Festival of Fantasy Parade coming to Magic Kingdom in 2014

They had two Spectro fish at a Little Mermaid-themed MK Cast event a while back, but unfortunately I can't remember when exactly that was. I think about a year ago, give or take maybe 2 months.

Festival of Fantasy Parade coming to Magic Kingdom in 2014

And Finding Nemo the Musical and Broadway's The Lion King. I didn't know he was involved either, that's very good news!

Festival of Fantasy Parade coming to Magic Kingdom in 2014

First pics of the Cinderella/possibly multiple princess and Tangled floats (EDIT: apparently these are from a video that AttractionsMagazine did; I saw them on tumblr) Cinderella is from Tokyo's Jubilation parade

    New Fantasyland Courtyard costumes

I know Gustavo (and the girl in the picture, Tricia), and believe me, a lot of (mostly female) guests wish he'd show more skin. The guy is the real-life Prince Naveen, complete with fancy hair, tan, muscles, and even a Chilean accent. But no, there are no long pants for Storybook Circus, none...

Anna and Elsa at DHS Today

No Anna or Elsa at Epcot today. The M&G appeared to still be very much under construction (you could hear electric sawing from inside and the Puffin's Roost sign hasn't even been taken down yet). They did, however, have a few CMs (character attendant, Norway CM, and Perry CM when I was there)...

Out with the Vikings, in with princess

To clarify, Frozen is very loosely inspired by The Snow Queen. That is, there is snow. And there is a queen. And that's about it. The fictitious country it takes place in (called Arendelle) is heavily influenced by Norway and Norwegian traditional fashion and culture. That said, I was cool with...

    GAC to Become DAS

Pages later, but... ARS was going to stand for Accessibility Return System. And yes, it would have been pronounced just like a rather similar, more unpleasant word.

    GAC to Become DAS

What I can say about DAS: It's not BS, it's absolutely real and it is indeed starting in early October. WDW is currently hiring a whole new crop of Guest Relations CMs to deal with DAS and also MyMagic+. And the other thing is that, apparently, the original acronym for the system was going to...

Universal kicks father out for wearing Police shirt.

In regards to Disney, main entrance CMs are not supposed to let offensive shirts into the park, but it's happening wayyyy more in recent years. I don't know if it's because they don't care anymore, or they're too scared to say anything (or they've always been lax, and it's the public getting...

    Old Attractions Inside New Ones

There are some Mr. Toad props in 'storage' next to Winnie the Pooh's Blustery Day scene, backstage. And in Storybook Circus, the socks and pants on top of the Barnstormer sign are from Toontown's Barnstormer. I know there are more things I know about, but I can't remember them right now.. EDIT...

Puffin´s Roost to host Princess Anna meet and greet

Goodness, what's with all the hate? I thought it was a general assumption that a meet and greet would be in Norway... I mean, no, the movie doesn't actually take place in Norway, but it's in a country heavily influenced by Norway and Scandinavia in general. Nothing in Snow White's movie says...

    Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Bouncing is exclusive to Carpets. The hydraulics on the other spinners aren't nearly as quick. Pretty much the only way to learn is to have someone who knows how show you (my friend who worked there showed me years ago). It's a really specific up-down pattern (it's basically...

Zebras gone again at Kilimanjaro Safaris?

Zebras are indeed back. Three Grant's zebras can be seen in the same areas as the white rhinos and ostriches (right after the flamingos all the way to right before the old zebra glen).

Testing a new truck prototype at Kilimanjaro Safaris

I was able to board the new truck today. Still bumpy, just slightly less so. ^ It pretty much is just the suspension. It's air suspension on the new one.

    Sprint/Nextel Radios leaving?

We've already started using them at my attraction. They're Motorola SL4000s. (picture from the Motorola website) The only real difference is that they don't have phone capabilities and direct connect like Nextels do, so guests are going to start hearing a lot more radio traffic.

Testing a new truck prototype at Kilimanjaro Safaris

I don't have a picture, but for the last few days, safari drivers and WDI have been taking a new truck around and around the track all day. No passengers (besides WDI people with laptops), only weighted dummies. It looks essentially the same. Slight differences, but overall, just like the old...

Peter Pan's Flight closing for month long refurbishment after the summer

Don't expect anything exciting. The reason this refurb is unannounced is because it wasn't supposed to happen. Peter Pan's been having some major mechanical issues as of late, and it's things Disney can't ignore. (It was down for two days straight a few weeks ago, it goes down a lot because the...
