Hollywood Studios vs Universal Studios Florida

Both kind of meh. The 2nd best UO park vs. the 4th best WDW park. I can take a whole Orlando trip (and have) without doing a studios park and not feel like I missed much. I go to Disney more, so Uni always feels a bit more novel when I do go. Mummy and a frozen butterbeer sounds good today...

Frozen Ever After vs Remy's Ratatouille Adventure

It's a wash...Rat is more impressive as a work of imagineering, but it's not all that great either, and boat rides > screen rides ceteris paribus. On a trip where somehow there are zero lines (ha) and I've already ridden every ride in the park once, I'm re-riding Frozen sooner than Remy...

Places In Disney World To Buy Cat Toys

I asked around on Main Street a few years ago, and they had ZERO for dogs or cats. Americans love their pets, so it didn't seem like Disney to whiff on such a big revenue stream...except that, yeah, do they really want people to see Fluffy mauling their mousy corporate logo? Thankfully my...

News Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

That BITES...I was hoping to see it one last time in February.

News “Zootopia” is being created for the Tree of Life theater

This change I'm glad for, not because the old show was bad (it was actually very good in principle), but I always skipped it because I can't stand bugs.

News Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

It's just too bad the musical stylings of Gilbert Gottfried are no longer available.

News Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

The silver lining is they'll probably go cheap on the retheme and just do new programming and music (like the Vacation Hoedown or the holiday version) rather than altering any of the physical setup, so at least they'll be able to change it back to the real thing someday after this flops.

    Ride Evacuation Wishlist

Spaceship Earth toward the very top would be sweet. Would also love to break down in the temple of Mara on Indiana Jones Adventure. Got led out from the middle of Splash Mountain once; that was a cool unique glimpse. Edit: And how could I forget Pirates? That would be awesome. Meanwhile on...

What are your top three attractions ever designed and opened by WDI? (defunct attractions are fair game)

Tied for 1st: Haunted Mansion (WDW) & Pirates of the Caribbean (DL original) 2nd: Horizons 3rd: Splash Mountain (WDW)

    Annual Passes

Missed the window to renew my AP earlier this year. Do I have any recourse? I've thought about trying the call center, but I'm not eager to spend 5 hours listening to the music loop just to finally hear a conclusive "No."

Pirates of the Caribbean vs Splash Mountain

If we're weighing specifically the Florida versions of these things, then Haunted Mansion, not Pirates of the Caribbean, is Splash Mountain's only credible rival for the title of best ride in Magic Kingdom. In Tokyo it becomes a more complicated question (plus I've only visited once, so I...

    Animatronic Trends in the Parks

When an animatronic fails mid-ride, you're looking at a paralyzed mannequin that's nevertheless costumed appropriately and often surrounded by beautifully designed scenery. When a screen fails mid-ride, you're just sitting in a room being shaken around noisily while looking at a blank wall, or...

    Show Stoppers

The only single attraction that might cause me to reschedule a whole trip would be Haunted Mansion. Ain't Disney without that. If the Spaceship Earth extended downtime finally happens and really lasts for over a year, I will be sad to miss it, but will still go during that period. Worth the...

Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind preview notification thread

Snagged one. I'd be more excited if it were a preview of something more in the spirit of World of Motion, Horizons, or Universe of Energy...but still, if Disney feels the need to put a comic-book coaster next to Spaceship Earth like we're at Six Flags Over EPCOT, I guess I might as well try it out!

$15 to save Extinct WDW Attractions

Ooh, this is tough. Toad and Snow White still survive in similar forms at other resorts, so those would be a waste here. I would love to have saved Great Movie Ride or Alien Encounter, but I'll settle for substantially restoring Future World. The $1 options are proportionally weak, so I'd want...

What would it take for you to NOT go back?

    "Nobody goes there anymore.
