News Reedy Creek Improvement District and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District

The use of the STOLport strip ended well before the EPCOT monorail was ever built.

    HEA viewing vs Wishes

I've watched from the Poly in the past, but never watched from the TTC. This video is really spectacular. Thanks for sharing. Gary

Walt Disney World Christmas Parade Taping

No worries on Christmas decorations. Its usually well decorated, with the only exception being the tree in town square due to camera positions.

Readmission to any park is fine. Parking is per-day, so all you need to do is save your receipt.

    Creepy New Survey Question....

I guess the question is a bit creepy in that they actually asked it. However, I made a reservation using my name and address, I showed up, they know what room I was in, they know I paid for stuff either on my room key or my credit card, and they knew how to find me to ask me to take the survey...

Are there any rumors about Innoventions West?

Given what they've turned these buildings into its easy to see this point of view. Boarded up/blacked out windows, sealed doorways, abandoned floor space (and mezzanine areas), vast drywall-covered areas. However, if one looks at how the buildings were originally intended, if park...

    Motion Sickness/Simulator Sickness

HaHa...Tea Cups. Reminds me of the playground ride we called the 'barf mobile'. Been on them, just no spinning.

    Motion Sickness/Simulator Sickness

I recall reading about this when Universal first put up the Back to the Future simulator ride. Happens when the visual input is out of sync with the physical motions of the simulator. It only takes small differences...1/10 of a second can do it. They had quite a few people complain, and after...

    MK Holiday Pop-up Dinner Buffets

In the last few years MK has offered dinner buffets (sometimes as last minute offers) where they take counter service locations usually run seasonally and flip them in the evening to buffets. I recall this was done at Tomorrowland Terrace a few times, and we enjoyed one two years ago at Tortuga...

Adventureland Veranda - Skipper Canteen restaurant

Not sure about the 'taking pressure off' , but certainly leveraging what had been mostly abandoned real estate in the park and a way to drive guests toward another higher priced option. If they really wanted to 'take pressure off' they could do so with 24 hours notice by simply opening...

Holidays at the Magic Kingdom 2015

The lighting rigs (both the scissor lift and telescope rigs from the new turrets) retract out of sight during the day. When up at night, the spots themselves just seem to be floating in the air. Compared to the rigs/trusses of the past they really are minimalist.

Osborne Lights Officially Returning for 2015 for 20th and Final Season

The comments on the 'original' vs 'Disney' version of the lights reminded me of one more item....one of the storefronts near the 'movie theater' is themed as something like 'Osborne Electric'....running video of the story of the original display and of the move to WDW. A nice tribute.

Osborne Lights Officially Returning for 2015 for 20th and Final Season

Seemed to have a couple new music choices for the 'dancing lights' segments. Folks already noted the Tink/20 and Kermit extras. Star Wars light sabers showed up as well. Absent (at least last night) was the 'radio DJ' announcements which played periodically over the last few years....didn't...

Mulch Sweat & Shears end of run?

Always thought it was a fun concept (brother in law is a landscaper) and enjoyed the choices they played. I made a point of watching their performance every time. Truly disappointed they'll end their run. Saturday will be MSS in the afternoon, Off Kilter at Winter Garden fest that evening.

Reservations for the Osborne Light's Merry and Bright Dessert Party now available

We booked the dinner event for Jan 2, and just so there's no confusion it was a 110% emotional decision. If I had known I wasn't going to see Lights of Winter again I'd have camped out there for an evening till they tossed me out. No doubt I'll be doing the same thing on the 2nd.

What final WDW attraction you want to do in the following situation?

Not sure about the last ride, but I'd definitely book 31 days at the Contemporary. 'Check out' before check out as it were.

Holidays at the Magic Kingdom 2015

Yes, building on the success of eliminating iconic Christmas decorations such as Lights of Winter at Epcot , today WDW announces eliminating Osborn lights at Studios. Yea, I know, construction/location/blah,blah,blah. Soon 'visiting WDW at Christmas to see the decorations' will be like...

Fun With Numbers: MK Maingate Blackout Edition

It's not 'fact' in any sense, it's just an ugly view of people at different stages of life and career. It's a view which devalues not only the role these folks play but the people themselves. I was a fast food worker 40 years ago, and it had nothing to do with a class system. Being able to...
