Thanks for pointing me there. I looked through the forums for something about rules, but never thought to check the site help. Sorry for any trouble I may have caused. Thanks! Lou

Okay... I get that. But here's my dilemma. In this case I have a product that I think a fair number of the people who frequent this forum and site would be interested in and could get value from. How do you propose I let those people know about it? Would it be okay if I were posting about a...

It's a book about Disney Imagineering, so it's not as if it's entirely unrelated. Thanks! Lou Prosperi

Hello, I recently tried posting a new thread, and then several days later, a new message in the Imagineer forum, and both were flagged as awaiting moderation. They have both since disappeared, and I haven't heard anything about their status. The thread and post were about me promoting my new...

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

I've been a member of this forum since 2005. I just don't post often. When I do post, it's most often in discussions about Imagineering principles and practices. And yes, since the discussion had moved to talking about Imagineering principles, I mentioned my book as I thought readers might be...

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

Great post and great website! During its heyday, Re-Imagineering was one of my favorite Imagineering blogs, and is one of the sources I used in THE IMAGINEERING PYRAMID. THE IMAGINEERING PYRAMID has a chapter entitled "It All Begins With a Story" that includes a discussion about story vs...

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

Well, everything in the Disney parks does have a story at is root. This is a fundamental of Imagineering going back to Walt Disney. The real question is whether or not everything needs to TELL a story. Thanks! Lou Prosperi, Author, THE IMAGINEERING PYRAMID

Disney confirms 'Frozen' makeover coming to Epcot's Norway Pavilion

But do we *really* know the reason Maelstrom has been replaced by Frozen Ever After? Do we know the actual NEED that led to this project? A fairly common assumption seems to be that it was simply to insert Frozen into the parks somewhere because the movie was popular, but I have to wonder if...

New Imagineering Book – THE IMAGINEERING PYRAMID

My apologies if I've violated the forum rules. I sent a message to one of the admins about this and didn't get a response, so I (perhaps incorrectly) assumed it would be okay. Thanks! Lou

New Imagineering Book – THE IMAGINEERING PYRAMID

Hello, Given the focus of this forum, I think the following is something you all might be interested in. I’ve written a book about Imagineering entitled “THE IMAGINEERING PYRAMID: Using Disney Theme Park Design Principles to Develop and Promote Your Creative Ideas.” The book examines 15...

Well, WDW is a place where dreams come true, right? ;)

Excellent News! I can only hope that this eventually stays open permanently. This is one my favorite out-of-the-way spots at DHS. Thanks! Lou Prosperi

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

I've skimmed through most of the posts in this thread (yes, all 76 pages), but haven't seen any reference to this yet: http://www.themeparkinsider.com/flume/201509/4728/ Enjoy! Lou Prosperi

Main Street U.S.A. hub redevelopment at the Magic Kingdom

Actually, I would argue that you *are* supposed to be able see the Tomorrowland buildings from the Hub. That was the point of the Hub and of creating wienies such as Astro Orbiter to draw Guests to the different lands. That said, we aren't supposed to be able to see the Tomorrowland buildings...

Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

I'm actually a bit torn on this. I certainly agree that the Hat isn't balanced with the rest of Hollywood Boulevard (or the rest of the park for that matter) and doesn't fit the overall theme of the park AT ALL. That said, I do think the hat works better as a wienie than the Chinese Theater did.

The Park Formerly Known as Disney's Hollywood Studios? Yep ...

This is all about an Imagineering technique known as "heightened reality." According to Imagineer Alex Wright in "The Imagineering Field Guide to Disneyland," heightened reality is "a design technique used to invoke feelings of nostalgia while taking some license with history. Heightened...

Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

I understand the POV of those that want it gone (and never wanted it in the first place), since it doesn't really fit the overall theme of the park or of Hollywood Boulevard. That said, I think the hat works better as a wienie than the Chinese Theater. The Chinese Theater isn't large or...

    EPCOT Entertainment cuts

I agree (or should I say "THIS"?). To offer a data point, I've been to Epcot (and through all of World Showcase each time) 3 times in the last 5 years (and 3 other times prior to that), and had NEVER HEARD OF Off-Kilter before this announcement. In general, the entertainment isn't what draws me...

PHOTOS - Town Square Theater soft opening including Mickey meet and greet

You Found an Imagineering Easter Egg! I'm not sure what this suggests about a possible role for Oswald at Town Square Theater, but I believe that note is a more of an Imagineering Easter Egg than anything else. Jason Grandt is the Concept Designer (and I believe, Art Director) for this...

    Thanks To An Imagineer

Hello, My family and I did thus during our trip to WDW in August. We also met with Jason Grandt, and we had a wonderful time. Overall a great experience, and one that I would do again. Take Care, Lou Prosperi
