Ridiculous or just plain weird in-queue stories, I wanna hear 'em.

A disturbing story, but it's the weirdest thing I've seen at WDW: A few years ago, my wife and I were at AK's Pangani Forest Exploration Trail checking out the meerkats. Of course, there were a whole bunch of small kids and a few parents checking out "Timon" and the gang. Then one of the kids...

World of Disney store in NYC closing?!

From Crain's New York: So it is going to be more than just a mall store.

Lights of Winter not being displayed this year (2009)!?!

Not too often these past few years. The last time was October '08 which was different than prior trips as it was the first time we took a child (my girlfriend's niece). Before that it was December '07. But then it goes back to a couple of trips around 2003/4. I used to go a lot more often in...

Lights of Winter not being displayed this year (2009)!?!

Yeah, frankly I was highly shocked when I realized that I no longer was that excited about the trip to WDW. I almost wondered if something was medically wrong. But now Vegas, Baby! Vegas! and I'm excited for my vacation again. So I guess it was just the pixie dust wearing off.

Lights of Winter not being displayed this year (2009)!?!

That's what I feel. The excitment to cost ratio is currently out of whack, at least for me personally. I have never been one of the doom and gloom brigade, always complaining about what Disney is or isn't doing. And it is not like I'm raising my fist in outrage. It's just become, "meh...I've...

Lights of Winter not being displayed this year (2009)!?!

I’m about to do something I would have never believed I would ever do barring, God forbid, some sort of family medical emergency. I’m canceling a trip to Disney World. My girlfriend and I were all booked at the Yacht Club for the first week of March, taking advantage of the buy 4, get 3...

Differing saturation of sponsorship in the parks?

But it could be sponsored. Can't you just see it? The Mad Tea Party, now sponsored by Dramamine.

Disney Parks to Wipe Hands Clean of Guests in Response to Flu Concerns

These sanitizers are going up in a lot of others places besides WDW. On our recent trip to Texas, we came across a couple of them as we exited a tour of the Natural Bridge Cavern. I went straight for it but it turned out they were both empty. Fortunately my gf had a small bottle of it in...

Lights of Winter not being displayed this year (2009)!?!

Hmm, okay. I thought it took much longer. That's not bad at all really, so I retract my statement. Thanks for the info.

Disney Parks to Wipe Hands Clean of Guests in Response to Flu Concerns

    New York City Crime Statistics: Year / Violent Crimes / Murders 1978 / 149,257 / 1,826 2008 / 77,585 / 836 In NYC, we are currently MUCH safer than we were in the crime-ridden 1970's and the crack-fueled 1980's.

Lights of Winter not being displayed this year (2009)!?!

I wonder if this will be next: Disney announces special Spectromagic Curb Party. Join us at a special "reserved" section of Main Street curb to sit on and watch your favorite nighttime parade. Each paying guest will be supplied with one (1) turkey leg. This will be a popular party, so we...

Lights of Winter not being displayed this year (2009)!?!

I think this post, as well as some others here, are way off the real point of holiday overlays at WDW. Of course the people who visit during the holidays would like to see them. It would be really nice for them, and especially nice for those people who live nearby and can go to the parks...

I had to re-log in, which is unusual. Normally, the site just recognizes my computer through a cookie. But once logged in, it is fine.

^^^^ Saying some very un-Christmasy things, methinks.

Lights of Winter not being displayed this year (2009)!?!

I guess I don't need to bother trying to untangle those pesky strings of lights for my Christmas tree this year, given that that "tech is obsolete." I'm glad Disney clued me into my fashion faux pas.

Lights of Winter not being displayed this year (2009)!?!

The person who made the final decision to not have LoW this year needs to be shuffled off to some lower postion on his or her road out of the company. The person who decided Twitter was the proper place for a response on the matter ("Hey, we can just give them a note of bs, and avoid a real...

The highly praised Creme Brulee in France F&W...

I didn't make it down to the F&W Fest this year, so I can't comment on French booth's offering, but... I love creme brulee. If it is on the menu, I'll have to order it. And yet, when I do get it, I am almost never happy with it. It drives my girlfriend nuts. She'll ask me how it is, and I'll...

    Best Place to Watch Illuminations....?

Hmm, I'll have to try this Canadian stairway spot when we go in March. Thanks for the tip.
