    Living with the baboons

Totally disagree. They need to have security stationed inside the hot air balloon about the food seating area with tasers 24x7

    Question on Selling/Rebuying

Yeah, we typically go for 10 nights in May. We have been to a members only night at Epcot (which was great), and do enjoy the discounts. But based on my math, we are looking to pocket $20k from a swap. That’s a lot of discount that would need to happen to offset that. And we really aren’t in...

    Question on Selling/Rebuying

Probably resale. I have only purchased one contract (GC), so I'm not sure as to the benefits/drawbacks of either.

    Question on Selling/Rebuying

Thanks for the reply. We bought in 2010 and GC was the cheapest at the time. It was also pretty reasonable from a dues standpoint. I’ve never been to DL, and while I would like to go, a trip there isn’t happening soon. Plus, we’ve never had trouble getting a 7 month reservation where we’d like...

    Question on Selling/Rebuying

I have a GC contract for 160 points. Seeing that the market is $300/point for that resort, I’m thinking about dumping that contract and buying a similar contract at a cheaper resort, pocketing the spread. We’ve never stayed at GC, so the 11 month window isn’t really much of a draw. Any thoughts...

News Walt Disney World holidays 2021

I have given Disney crap a lot lately (and rightfully so, in my opinion), but well done on this. That's an impressive feat to get all that accomplished over night.

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

I think you’re right, but therein lies the problem. They don’t have incentive to improve it. They shouldn’t need incentive to improve it. They should improve things because they want to always put out a exemplary product and have world-class customer service. That’s what they used to do. They...

Disney Genie and Genie+ at Walt Disney World

We're not quite where you are yet, but we're getting close. We usually do a 10 night stay every year, but for 22, we are just doing 3 nights in Vero Beach and 4 in Poly. If the current trend keeps going, we will probably sell our DVC contract.

Labor cost cutting measures begin at Walt Disney World as the company enters Q1

This is what amazes me most about the removal of DME. Tons of people would never see what they were missing by being in the bubble the whole time, at a relatively cheap cost for Disney. Now that many of those people will have to deal with getting to/from the airport and potentially rent cars...

News Primeval Whirl, Stitch's Great Escape and Rivers of Light permanently closed

I’ll see your new lands and raise you a cancelation of DME, lightning lane, genie +, and an increase of nearly 50% in AP costs for DVC, not to mention all the other things Disney is nickel and dimming you for. That’s not to mention that it’s taking them longer to build a coaster that they...

News Primeval Whirl, Stitch's Great Escape and Rivers of Light permanently closed

I’m sure you’re right on the ride count, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone discuss ride count when talking of planning a vacation. The perception, at least in my mind, is that Universal is putting money into developing their business and competing to catch up with WDW. Meanwhile...

    Popcorn buckets

No. They are just buckets. You show them your bucket and they hand you a box of popcorn, and some filled up a cup with popcorn and handed both to you.

    Popcorn buckets

I got one a couple weeks ago. It is good for your entire resort stay across all parks. I believe it was $12 with a $2 refill, and a basic popcorn is $5.75, so 3 purchases is when you break even.

Song of the South - Streaming

I added an app to my Roku last night called Rediscover Television (partial free and partial pay, sort of like Peacock). While scrolling through it, I saw under Free Kids TV, there is a folder for no-longer copyrighted Disney programs. In that group are probably 5-10 shows/shorts, including...

News Disney's Magical Express to end after 2021

I just called and complained to Disney about removing this. I’m hoping enough people do the same and they reverse the decision.

Well played, and I agree. I was trying to be as sensitive with my word choice as possible.

Walt Disney World Park Hours cut starting September 8 2020

But that’s not what the graphic says. And if we’re including pandemics, then this should include the Spanish Flu pandemic where in Oct 1918 there were an estimated 200k American deaths, or an average of ~6500/day.

Walt Disney World Park Hours cut starting September 8 2020

I get that is probably the goal. However, all its going to do is to get people more entrenched in their views. People more safety based will be alarmed by that, while people more freedom based will brush it off as another piece of junk science. Especially since I was able to refute the claim in...

Walt Disney World Park Hours cut starting September 8 2020

Maybe I’m misreading this or missing something, but if we have 330m people in the US and the average lifespan is 77, that means 4.3m people die in the US a year. Divide that by 365, and you get ~12k people that die in the US on an average day. That would make any random Tuesday blow away the...
