    Beast at Be Our Guest?

I was there a few weeks ago and the Beast made several appearances during our dinner. He moves quickly through the rooms and seems to be a loop to catch more people.

    About the Disney Dining Plan...

Just back from my 9 day stay and, having booked ADRs for all but 2 meals with no repeat restaurants across all 4 parks and several resorts (20+ sit downs), I'm pleased to say there were very few empty tables available. In fact, most of the restaurants were packed and reseating as quickly as...

    About the Disney Dining Plan...

Exactly, thank you. :) We're going to act and dine the way we like to act and dine, Dining Plan or not. It's a payment option, not a lifestyle changer. Thank you, I never misunderstood what others were saying. The earlier point was not lost on me. As for my booking style, no, we're surely...

    About the Disney Dining Plan...

I wasn't being hostile and do appreciate your responses. Rather, I was arguing against Disney's POV that they can open up and restore 90% of the park but can't find a way to restore something that essentially equates to a pre-paid card strapped to one's wrist. It does feel like my entire posts...

    About the Disney Dining Plan...

I never said it was simple. Simple wouldn't have had my husband and myself on separate laptops staring at a pre-made trip spreadsheet in the wee hours of the morning making reservations 60 days in advance. But that's exactly what we did this year and when we went in 2018. And 2015.

    About the Disney Dining Plan...

No, they may not, but not having the DP won't change that. My point is that people who are inclined to make reservations at restaurants will do that regardless of whether there is a plan in place or not. I did. Which means they are going to run into the ADRs issue anyway. People who are willing...

    About the Disney Dining Plan...

Yes, but that's not necessarily a new thing. Getting ADRs hasn't been easy in quite some time. Using my upcoming trip as an example, we'd like the DP, but that has not stopped me from booking breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 8 days at park and resort restaurants, including multiple signatures...

    About the Disney Dining Plan...

Thank you. I've heard that, but it's hard to wrap my head around that reason. The dining plan is simply a payment method and as we generally have to make dining reservations, all that matters is being able to show up and eat then pay. People in the parks will still need to eat, dining plan or...

    About the Disney Dining Plan...

I know the Dining Plan can be a controversial topic around here, but my husband and I love its convenience. We usually get the Deluxe Plan and are frustrated that it's still unavailable given that our next trip is planned for within 2 months. Has anyone heard when they'll be bringing it back?

News EPCOT International Festival of the Arts 2022

At the end of the day, though, it's still a... POPCORN BUCKET. Not a character figurine in porcelain (or even plastic without the hinge), not an action figure that moves in a cool way, not an artist's work... It's a piece of plastic designed to hold one of the cheapest food items out there. On a...

Chapek and D'Amaro continue the tradition of no bonus or Christmas gift for Disney's Cast Members

When I was in my early 20s (almost 30 years ago), rent was in the $1,000-1,400 per month range in a sketchier neighborhood with no amenities. I couldn't afford it on my low-level salaries, which is why I had to have roommates. I did that until I was married, and then we because a 2-income...

Chapek and D'Amaro continue the tradition of no bonus or Christmas gift for Disney's Cast Members

No worries - it's far too easy to rapid-read intent on these message boards. Thank you for your apology. :) As for a threat? Not even a little bit, lol. I routinely gave him credit for his work with leadership and promoted him from an assistant to a higher title (with raise) on my team. No...

Chapek and D'Amaro continue the tradition of no bonus or Christmas gift for Disney's Cast Members

People forget the cost of onboarding new employees, especially full-time employees. It's a major expense that, given the in-person nature of the work and recent shut-downs, isn't all that appealing on a grand scale during a pandemic that's still raging on.

Chapek and D'Amaro continue the tradition of no bonus or Christmas gift for Disney's Cast Members

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Such a simple answer. Thank you. Here the rest of the country has been thinking it was something else. How nice it is to find out that it has had nothing to do with a chunk of the population taking early retirement packages. Or federal and state benefits and loans paid out. Or extended...

It's not a problem unique to Disney. It's wide-spread issue permeating the entire country that was brought about by the pandemic. https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/25/economy/labor-shortage-early-retirement-charts/index.html https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2021/12/29/job-market-2021/

My position? No, but I'd bet I'd be considered an evil corporate type around here. The numbers I shared were in response to other posters who suggest everyone deserves a living wage. Living wage varies by state, and in CA it's just under $60k. My position is that companies cannot afford to...

Yes, but mom and pops aren't known for staying in business. The majority of them fail or are bought out. What is it, 3 of 5 businesses fail? Some survive, sure, but of those, a percentage "grow up" to become the evil corporations who follow normal corporate practices despised here. The majority...

Chapek and D'Amaro continue the tradition of no bonus or Christmas gift for Disney's Cast Members

Are you saying mom and pop-owned restaurants pay people different wages to do the same job? That they're showing deliberate bias against other workers and rewarding another based on personal feelings toward an individual's lifestyle? HR would have a field day with that one. Someone making...
