News 2024 Disneyland Resort Event Calendar

Between the updated Together Forever and this, I vastly prefer this. The updated Pixar show has its moments (really wish Elemental had a stronger presence, loved the little Luca sequence, Turning Red was wasted), but still lacked a through line or level of cohesion than other clip shows. That...

News Wondrous Journeys firework show coming to Disneyland

Both really good instances where the Disney movies are in conversation with each other, which is why both work so well IMO. Uses the new to recall and recontextualize what came before. Much stronger than the average clip show (even something like Disneyland Forever, which is an above-average...

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

I think it's less that he doesn't matter anymore and more "what a shame the only park that bears Walt's name is the worst in their portfolio by far."

Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

Wasn’t Disney rumored to have considered renaming DHS to Cinemagine Park at one point? I feel like that stupid as it sounds, it would have been a better name for this second gate than DAW; it sounds more French in a way + ties in the studio park roots while moving away from it at the same time.

Foodie Guide dropped for Pixar Fest: https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2024/04/disney-eats-pixar-fest-foodie-guide-starting-april-26/ Honestly, can't help but smile at a lot of these items, it just feels like they had a lot of fun putting these menus together. Major kudos to the...

    D23 2024 Rumors, Predictions & Discussion

Ah yes, good point. Honestly, the ESPN Zone isn't too bad looking if they reworked it a bit; the brickwork itself could totally fit into the mid-century modern look that the west side is adopting if they removed the metal panel work. Rainforest Cafe is a complete wash though.

    D23 2024 Rumors, Predictions & Discussion

They announced more of their DTD reimagining today on the Parks blog. Paseo, Céntrico, and Tiendita are all opening May, with Din Tai Fung opening later this summer. Calling out the new bits of info: With what's coming to DTD (including Parkside Market, Porto's, and not-yet-confirmed permanent...

News 2024 Disneyland Resort Event Calendar

I know this decor wasn't popular around these parts when it was first teased, but I really do like the mid-century modern-ish look they're going for with the Pixar Fest decor. You could swap the Pixar characters for Fab Five + throw a giant Disneyland D on that spinner and leave it in Downtown...

    D23 2024 Rumors, Predictions & Discussion

I suspect the same with PTN coming back as the bone they throw to fans for the 70th. I keep going back and forth on it, but ultimately I think we're getting a relatively muted 70th and a big 75th rather than two big celebrations. Kind of related, it's strange how big the 60th felt despite no...

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland

I'm a big proponent of just redoing the land as a proper Hollywood and removing the backlot, like they'd initially wanted to do after DCA 2.0. I will heavily mourn the loss of the Hyperion if/when it goes.

News 2024 Disneyland Resort Event Calendar

Given that the fireworks package is meant to sync to a completely different score, it’s not half bad! Nice change of pace. It was smart of them to use deeper cuts of the score to better exploit idiosyncrasies that make the pyro seem to sync up. Great use of the spires’ lighting package too, they...

News Avatar Experience coming to Disneyland

Well, at least it's different from DAK + it's based on the water tribe, that's cool. Sounds like they might be considering this as part of the DisneylandForward expansion which would be awesome.

New Tomorrowland. Is this the year it finally gets announced?

Stitch "messing" with the PeopleMover tour by getting a little show scene in the old speed room would be the kind of lighthearted stakes that make Disneyland rides so endearing.

New Tomorrowland. Is this the year it finally gets announced?

They should just full send a World's Fair retheme to Tomorrowland and be done with it. At least merchandising is on it when it comes to what the people want: (I did cop the baseball jersey...)

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

The post actually heavily implies the concept art is one of the first scenes, since they attribute this concept art as the "first critter encounter" where all the band members are playing "Gonna Take You There." This is just the first group of many critters we'll see (I think concept/inspiration...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

The secret ingredient is the critter band! Honestly, very cute. My favorite character designs are Apollo and Timoléon (who deserved a plush too, the travesty!).
