I generally stay at AK. It's been a few years since visiting AoA, but the Lion King Family Suite was one of my favorite rooms (deluxe and value) and I really like the theming of AoA and its pool. I'd probably stay there if I wasn't with DVC.

2 weeks ago managed to get an afternoon boarding group with the 1st morning attempt, no problems. Compared to the Rise debacle of a few years ago felt they have improved the virtual boarding group process. The queue started in the room with the models & small tv's, so had a moderate wait...

For comparison, last week (1/26) at Universal Hollywood was the least crowded I've ever seen a park. Walked to the front of the line every ride all day with no special pass. It was my 1st time there so don't know what it normally is like but it has me kind of dreading my return to Disneyworld...

don't believe fastpass was available for an hour or more after park opening, but that does not mean that the time slots for LL won't start then.

Has anyone asked the question/know if the paid fastpass will start at park opening. If you are at the park at rope drop or shortly after opening would you now be behind a paid fastpass?

Now you can get up early to see that slots are gone in less than 10 seconds. Not really a selling point. Went on the rat ride in Paris on a standby line with no problem. They need to make some improvements to the BG system before inflicting it on more people.

The AoA lion king suite was the most fun room I've ever stayed at (comparing against deluxe DVC) and the pool is fun too. Having said that, I'd suggest AoA for a party of 2 adults and the rest kids...but with 4 adults and 1 kid I'd go the 2 bedroom route.
