How long from Vegas to DLR?

There should be less traffic that early. The best we did when drving was a smidge under 4 hours, with no traffic and no stops. There is always an unavoidable slowdown at the agriculture station because even if it is closed you still have to drive through the booths.

How long from Vegas to DLR?

Since I live in Vegas I have driven it a bunch of times and I will say avoid weekend travel like the plague, unless you leave early in the morning. Driving on Friday or Sunday can almost always assure you an extra 2-3 hours if you are going anytime after 11 am. In July it took us over 6 hours...

    Las Vegas

Beyond the normal recommendations, I would say you should visit Red Rock Canyon. It's like a really mini Grand Canyon, but it is only 17 miles from the strip and about 20-30 minutes (as opposed to 5 hours away for GC). It's only $5 to get in but you'll feel like you are in another world compared...

So where EXACTLY are you from?

We live on the dividing line between Peccole Ranch and Summerlin in the northwest area of Las Vegas, NV. We are about 10 miles from the Southern end of the Las Vegas Strip.

    Pictures from Vegas

We loved it so much we moved here! :) Nice pictures! How did you like the Red Rock Canyon area? It is one aspect of Vegas that most visitors have no idea even exists.

    Google earth

Google still blows away MSN's competing product MSN Virtual Earth. When using my address our place and the surrounding area is entirely undeveloped desert (probably about 10 year old) whereas Google is only about 2 years old. MSN released theirs a few months after Google but appear to be years...

Disney mentioned in non disney movies

You will be amazed at the number of Disney references in the simpsons... http://www.snpp.com/guides/disney.html My personal favorite: Homer promises to hide his fugitive mother "someplace where there's nobody for miles, Disney's California Adventure." Reference to the sparsely attended...

Poll #7 What extinct attraction do you believe should not have been destroyed?

I would agree with that statement. Even though most people on here don't like it, Stich isn't so bad then because I still see lines/crowds there. There is literally NO ONE waiting to go into the new JII, even just to escape the heat People would rather just sit there and bake in the sun than go...

Poll #7 What extinct attraction do you believe should not have been destroyed?

I disagree that Pooh is bad, but I do feel that they could have added Pooh and kept Toad also. I mean they managed to do it at DL and they have alot less space. I voted for the original JII, mainly because I feel that it's replacement is the worst replacement of all of the rides listed (well...

Best time to go to avoid lines

As kids we almost always went in the Summer, but my wife and I have go in September and we think that is the best time. The weather is as good as summer and you can walk on everything. We have been in december and January/February and while there may not be a crowd, the weather *CAN* be very...

Anyone going to Disneyland on Sunday?

We are driving down on Sunday but we are going to the park on Monday instead to try and avoid the insane crowds. We'll probably take a walk around Downtown Disney though.

    Why no Rainforest??? BOOOOOOOOOO

If you think their menu is huge you should try eating at The Cheesecake Factory The menu is like 12 pages long. Their food is priced about the same, but is much better and you get huge portions. We have one up the road from us and we can usually get two or three meals out of one meal there.

    Why no Rainforest??? BOOOOOOOOOO

We found for us that two is sufficient with some junk food snacks in between. When we ate three full meals a day we felt like bloated pigs by the end of the week and couldn't stand eating anymore. I would agree that the quality of the food at Rainforest Cafe has diminished quite a bit. We tried...

    Bonnet Creek Resort

I am not convinced there are any significant benefits to owning a timeshare, but I will say that the facilities at the other Fairfield timeshare resorts we have been to have been outstanding (we can stay for $20 - $50 a night at any of them because my wife is an employee). We haven't stayed at...

What about July 18th @ Disneyland?

What does everyone think the crowds will be like on Monday the 18th? Our out of town guests suggested going on Sunday the 17th, not having a clue as to what was going on. This being their first trip ever to any Disney park, we felt it best to avoid the crowds that will be there for the...

    Bonnet Creek Resort

Actually, it was sold to Cendant Corporation and their subsidiary, Fairfield Resorts, which is a timeshare company (I know because my wife works in their accounting office here in Las Vegas). Fairfield Inn is a completely different company (a subsidiary of Marriott).
