News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

You know, at first I was against this, but after watching PatF a couple times recently, I have done a complete 180 opinion wise. I am now very excited for the change. I do hope the reimagining is still AA heavy as it seems like WDI has been getting away from AA’s in general or sometimes they...

    The Splash Mountain Appreciation Thread

Iconic, irreplaceable music. Family-friendly attraction. Very long ride length. Unbelievable detail. Countless animatronics. An essential part of every trip and my favorite ride.

Disney fighting hard to keep gambling out of Florida

Are you being serious? If this was meant to be sarcastic, then that is one thing. If you actually believe your first sentence, then I will have to disagree with you on so many levels.

    Splash Mountain Queue BGM

Thank you for posting this. I know many of the abbreviations from being a long-time lurker on these boards (before and after I officially registered). However, some I do not know so this will be quite helpful in the future. Much appreciated.

POLL: Are you in favor of the Splash Mountain Re-theme?

No. Splash Mountain has always been my favorite ride in all of WDW. However, I will keep an open mind with this. Sometimes change can be a very good thing. We shall see.

Good to know. So many things are going to change due to this virus.

News Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Great point. I could see them doing that. I could see other resorts being partially converted to DVC too.

What's Still On and What's Now Off

This. I do not believe it will be an excuse. I believe they are going to have to raise prices and make cuts to simply survive and remain profitable once they open back up. They will be wanting to recoup some profits from the long closure as well. I hope this is not true.

What's Still On and What's Now Off

Has Disney confirmed that they will extend annual passes by the amount of days the parks are closed? I know they initially said they would do so. Just making sure this has not changed. I am not trying to be at the parks right when they re-open or anything. I will be monitoring the situation...

What's Still On and What's Now Off

I could see August being the official re-opening. It will be interesting to see how this is all implemented.

News Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Yes, Sirwalterraleigh the location is great! It's the concept that I have issues with. I do believe that these new tower properties (Bay Lake tower, Coronado tower, Riviera, etc.) may have their place in the WDW lodging portfolio, but I sure hope future Disney lodging properties take a different...

News Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

I sure hope you are correct in stating that the river DVC is dead. I did not like the project from the start. I also wonder what work has already been completed for this site. Does anyone know if work has started on ground prep, foundation, etc.? My apologies in advance if this information has...

News Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Also, I am sure they will complete this project. Like others have said, DVC makes too much $$$ to pass up. Of course, the project will surely be delayed by a bit now. People will still be buying DVC just like people will still be going to WDW in record #'s. This is just a relatively short term...

News Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

I believe they do work off of commission. Regardless, I would never want to be a DVC salesman. I would be terrible at this job in a roaring economy let alone a Coronavirus Recession.

    Any truth in this

I had been wondering and looking for a word to describe the newer Disney hotel properties (Riviera, Coronado Tower, etc.) other than being tall tower like structures far removed in overall layout and feel compared to earlier WDW accomodations. Most Disney World hotels/DVC/lodging were groups of...

Which Disney location will open first

I definitely think that the parks in Florida will be the last to open too. I believe Hong Kong will be the first to re-open, but we will have to wait and see.

HS never to be the same?

I understand where the OP and others are coming from. However, the studios were (and still currently are) in a sad state. The studios is still barely a half day park. It has one of the worst layouts of any Disney park. The additions of TSL and Star Wars will not fix the layout/design issues...

    Insanity Pricing Officially Reached

Yes, I can certainly see your point there. Taking the trams and remembering where you parked are two of the drawbacks for sure. Also, like you said, Lyft/Uber will usually be cheaper than renting. However, if I can find a good deal on a car, I will usually go that direction.

    Insanity Pricing Officially Reached

Yes, I certainly agree with this. I almost always used the Disney transportation until 3 years ago when I rented a vehicle. I absolutely loved the freedom and agility this gave me. It made park hopping and visits to Disney Springs quicker, easier, and more efficient. Now it depends on how many...
