Totally agree for those going in June during that ride closure week. You didn't know the ride would be closed when you booked your tickets and there's was no indication it would be full on closed (unless you cruise these boards where people suspected it could happen but THEY don't need to know...

I think it's more of the latter..that DHS will actually have a fair bit less traffic..especially in the afternoon once people realize they've done all there is to do and will park Hop. Yeah just book something worth your tier 1 and then modify using the app the day of.

Although many have reported fastpasses becoming available the day of late morning. So you may be able to snag one the morning of the 27th. Also things seem to be fluid and there's also thoughts they'll open fastpasses back up closer to opening day.

Apparently your best chance is to call about a week out from arrival and request a remodelled room specifically. Best chance of guaranteeing it.

That's where that Rider Switch program can really bail you out. Worth looking into the specs though as I think you need to ask for it *as* you enter the ride. Animal Kingdom has got SO much stuff you don't need to lineup for (i.e. animal enclosures) so it's a pretty great park for that age...

So first advice...don't take fastpasses for granted. they are amazing..especially with younger kids. Being able to walk right on a ride using fastpass rather than waiting 30-90 minutes is pretty huge. That being said it's worth looking up fastpass+ articles along with some ride descriptions...

I'm still checking in occasionally though. You never know when they may open them up again. Though I'm leaning more towards that they'll keep it standby only for all of May and allow June FP+s eventually.
