    Double Characters?

Yeah ... I had to think very quickly on the spot to explain to my kid how Pluto got from a resort breakfast to a meet & greet at the entrance to Epcot before us, when we went straight from one to the other on the monorail. I told her that because he was a character he didn't have to wait in...

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

Yeah, I was surprised by this. I would have thought you'd be able to walk around a themed interior of it, or they'd at least have something like CRT in the Magic Kingdom. Definitely seems like an oversight.

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

Sadly, no. Actually getting into the park (which we very much had to pay for) is a prerequisite to signing up for the show.

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

I was more thinking about the "you're the commander/navigator/whatever so you have to press this button when it lights up" aspect. You're no doubt right about the ride mechanics.

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

Yep. We didn't spend a cent on the whole experience. As I said, I was surprised!

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

I was pretty surprised it was still open (and free!) last time we went, TBH. All I can figure is that somehow the execs haven't noticed that they're not charging money for it or someone high up has an emotional attachment to it. It's weird that it's free given how much they monetise everything...

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

As long as the children think he's really there it's all good. Although I saw one kid burst into tears during the show when we were there, which probably wasn't quite the idea!!

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

From my understanding (from reading about it, hopefully I'll get back to Disney to ride it at some point in the next few years) it seems MF:SR is more like Mission Space with a Star Tours theme?

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

This is of course true, but I can't help but hope that someone in the chain of people designing and approving these things actually at some point said something like "wouldn't it be cool if". Maybe I'm being naive, but the people with the creative energy to actually implement these projects...

    "One And Done" Attractions

I was quite surprised by how tame Expedition Everest was actually, it's more about the Yeti effects than about the thrill ride aspect. Might be worth giving a go next time you have a change. Space Mountain is actually quite slow as well, just feels fast because of the darkness. You're probably...

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

It's a "facing your fears" thing, so the idea is that those characters are just force visions. Also the kids doing it probably don't care too much about canon. In general they seem to be trying to distance themselves from the prequel trilogy, so I'm not surprised it's not a focus of the show.

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

The bit you quoted that I replied to was specifically that "Disney very much needs something that makes kids feel like they can join the Resistance or be a Jedi [for free]" All I pointed out was that they already have that.

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

No. Each kid gets given a light-sabre for the duration of the show. It doesn't cost anything to sign up for or participate in. It's completely free. They don't even mention the "build your own light-sabre" shop, it's a separate thing.

Soarin', unless I can be guaranteed to sit in the top row where I don't have to see people's feet dangling in front of me (like, who came up with that ride design??) It's tough to be a bug - once was enough. Tomorroland Speedway.

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

They already have that in Hollywood Studios. It's called "Jedi Training", and literally makes kids feel like a Jedi for half an hour, including letting them fight Darth Vader with a light sabre one on one, and is actually free to sign-up for. It's been going for decades.

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

What's in there specifically for "die-hard fans" only? Like most people I've seen most of the movies and read some of the books a long time ago, but have no desire to do so again. Hardly a fan, let alone a "die-hard" one. Given that, I was genuinely impressed by the attention to detail and...

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

Gringott’s, the Hogswarts ride, Hippogriff coaster, and Hagrid’s rollercoaster makes 4. You have a point though, Hippogriff is pretty generic, so I should have said “4 thrill rides, 3 of which are unique”.

First time at Poly DVC Rental - How loud is the smaller pool?

Staying here right now. The pools aren’t that different size wise, just different shape, so there’s not really a “smaller pool” as such. The lava pool is loud and busy as you’d expect, but the other pool is dubbed the “quiet pool”, and is generally not very packed and quite calming and quiet...

Star Wars Land vs Wizarding World

It’s going to be hard to top Harry Potter. The themed area is huge, spread over two parks, with 4 unique roller coasters and restaurants / shops straight from the books, and the Hogwarts Express linking them, which is a ride all by itself. It really feels like you’re there (and their small...

    Time in resort vs. Park

I’m curious how other people divide their time between their resort and parks. On my current trip this has been a real challenge as we want to experience the parks but also maximise “pool time” (especially as the weather is so unpredictable). We ended up creating “pool days” were we only...
