Disney Board of Directors -- News and Drama

“Why do I have to have a Marvel that’s all women? Not that I have anything against women, but why do I have to do that?,” Peltz said. “Why can’t I have Marvels that are both? Why do I need an all-Black cast?” https://finance.yahoo.com/news/peltz-questions-disney-casting-marvels-172548588.html

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Someday, I’m going to launch a competitor to WDWMagic, but it’s for people who hate Disney parks and films. And want to complain about everything they do.

Those signs are promotional (notice the PPG Paints logo at the bottom). Back in 2022, Disney entered a business agreement to make PPG "the official paint of WDW/Disneyland." I'm assuming it probably means a discount on the paint and surface preparation materials used in exchange for some...

News New Changes Coming to the Disney Look 2021

It’s both—the job AND the employees’ role in filling that position. I understand your argument, I’m saying the inverse is true: if an employer wants the same productivity than the job was originally deemed worth paying, they’ll eventually either need to renegotiate with the employee or commit...

News New Changes Coming to the Disney Look 2021

LOL, as if a job’s value is static and unchanging? Jobs are graded as an employer determines the value of a job to the business at that time. The grading must also be competitive at that time, or they’ll likely have difficulty finding good workers to take the job. But over time, the value of...

Sorry! I should have put “Note: This will be the least funny post @Brer Oswald has even seen on these boards” as a warning at the top of my post!

Gideon's Bakehouse coming to Disney Springs

I like the theming of Gideon's bakery more than its cookies. I wish more places at DS did theming like this, but I'm not sure how it works with DS's theming...

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

On the question (in the thread title) of "What happens next?," I think we're going to see continued blurring of lines between "series" and "feature length film." Movies keep getting longer (apparently because younger audiences want this?), and series are getting shorter (remember 24 to...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

What’s with those modern, industrial-style stairs? They totally clash with the theme. Were those wooden posts designed by Louisiana artisans, too? Half of the pavement is gray and the other half is tan. Modern WDI doesn’t have a clue what they’re doing!! Those hedges are hideous, and they’re...

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

This wouldn’t be the winning strategy you’re making it out to be, because the platforms aren’t content JUST to be middlemen, selling other people’s product for a percentage of the sales. Examples: Amazon watches what’s selling well (and the data pointing to what’s about to sell well) and...

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

So you do see why Disney threw everything they could into making D+ work. Maybe streaming will end up costing consumers the same as cable. But it will make more money for the streaming companies than linear, that’s why they’re pursuing it.

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

Do those of you who insist streaming is not going to be a viable business for Disney also think linear tv and box office is going to be a viable business for Disney? And why do you think you can understand this better than Studio Executives?

News New Changes Coming to the Disney Look 2021

It wasn’t the “TSA Agents perform poorly” part of your claim I doubted, it was “the US Air Marshals do much better” part. Any sources on that, of just an assumption on your part? Sorry I misunderstood. Your mention of Air Marshals and how passengers have shown willingness to intervene made me...

Disney's Next Acquisition Speculation / Discussion

Yeah. And I don’t think Disney or Netflix would need to buy WB in order to benefit from their weaker position in streaming.
