The Skyliner will be a fun way to travel. And they've also upgraded CBR's lobby, restaurant & lounge.
Change can be fun. And as you said, you can always return to CSR the next year if you want to.
That's true for Orlando, but not necessarily Walt Disney World, whose drainage is pretty exceptional with a few exceptions.
Dodging the worst of the winds would make for a much easier WDW recovery.
However, the Cast Members would still have to make through the floods to work.
I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge right after Irma and many of the Fort Wilderness campers had been transferred over. I believe others were transferred to other hotels.
Fort Wilderness was closed for about a week after Irma if I remember correctly.
