Why do so many adults are obsessed with WDW?

For me it's a mindset - "let the mouse drive".

Planning a trip for 2020. Would you rather...

If you go during Veteran's Day weekend or immediately thereafter, most of the Christmas stuff is up. The MK Christmas parties usually start that week and unfortunately, they tend to film the ABC Christmas specials that week as well - I think it can mess up MK or HS a bit.

Planning a trip for 2020. Would you rather...

November. It's usually beautiful and warm enough to visit the pool, but not so humid to make everyone miserable. I'm from DC, so I'm used to hazy hot and humid, and I know how to manage it so I don't get sick.

Dining Plan and additional guests for dinner

In my experience, it makes no difference. My family traveled with another last April, they were on the dining plan and we weren't. I made reservations for all 8 of us. It was no problem when it was time to pay the bill.

    Question about upgrading to AP

I can't speak to how much credit you would get, but this past April I upgraded to an AP on the visit day of our visit. We had a 30% off the room and park tickets package - no dining. From what I've read from other people doing in the past, you should be able to upgrade without messing up...

    Annual Pass worth ?

    That sounds about right.

    Annual Pass worth ?

There's some truth to the idea that if you know you'll be back soon, you're more willing to take it easy. We just got back from our last trip on Monday. It was the most relaxed Disney trip we've ever had: Went to the parks in the morning. Did a few rides. Had a slushy. Had lunch wherever we...

    Annual Pass worth ?

My family lives in the DC area, so we have Platinum passes. I think break even for us was 10 days. We drive down for long trips, fly for quick ones. This year (April 2019 - April 2020) we have 5 trips planned for a total of about 28 park days. 10 days in April 2019 4 days in July 2019 4...

What is something you ALWAYS do in Magic Kingdom?

Pirates, Haunted Mansion, PeopleMover. Everything else is optional. And pics of two very obnoxious children with the castle - either in front in the AM or by the carousel in the PM.

Best Cost effective ( on site) options for 7 people

You didn't share ages or times of year. In theory, a Fort Wilderness cabin can accommodate 6 guests plus 1 in a crib if you have a baby in the group. The same for an Art of Animation suite. Or you can try to get 2 adjoining rooms in a value or moderate, that should sleep 8 - 10 in various...

Does anyone NOT like Flight of Passage?

Hate it. Don't think my tummy can tolerate it a second time. All the screeny, motiony rides make me queasy. Motion sickness I guess. And the last time I went on Star Tours some lady puked all over the place, oh god the smell, and we were trapped for several minutes until a CM could "rescue"...

Need Help Planning 14 Night Trip Dining Reservations

I'll vouch for the following that are not signature, but are in parks or near MK or EPCOT, in no particular order: 1. Liberty Tree Tavern - yummy turkey and toffee cake 2. Plaza Restaurant - basic sandwiches and fries 3. Chefs de France - good steak frites 4. Biergarten - grapefruit beer 5...

Would you pay $226 for a souvenir?

I voted no, but I was kinda lying. I won't spend $226 on a stupid light saber. But I will spend $300 on a bottle of perfume from the Guerlain shop in Epcot. I think I spent about $300 on a framed Mary Blair/iasw American West room canvas. And DH and I have spent similar amounts ($200 - $300)...

    Strategies for additional Fast Passes

In my experience, grabbing additional FP's is most effective at MK. The other parks have so few rides that they just run out. So maybe I'll be able to get a useful 4th. In MK, I try to get the initial 3 FP's for the worst waits (Peter Pan, Mine Train, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain or Big...

    Caribbean Beach Resort thoughts

I can speak for two weeks ago, maybe things have changed since then. Construction was definitely still going on. A lot of landscaping and pathways were torn up and fenced off especially around Aruba, making navigating difficult. It took me about 4 days to figure out the most efficient paths...

    CRT New Upcharge

You'll notice from my signature that I might suffer from the same affliction.... But I have to argue the food and weather in Hawaii really outshine WDW..... I've had some of the best meals in my life in Honolulu and Kona. And my first visit to Hapuna Beach State Park has ruined me for all...

How Park Exploring Has Changed, Could we Get one Old School Day?

You should go to Disneyland. For whatever reason, it's a lot like amusements parks used to be. It's probably some combination of more local visitors, less exclusive experiences, minimal fastpasses, lots of rides... it's so strange to not run from appointment to appointment. A lot less...

    CRT New Upcharge

You're funny. This is a fight for humanity. A fight for good value and entertainment. Every Disney visitor should smile with pleasure as the mouse steals his wallet because it was worth every penny. I am a disnerd, so I care. When Disney makes a garbage movie, do we watch it? No. It's a...
