    Changes coming to Fantasyland

I totally agree. With current management, I'm almost relieved that they haven't replaced 20K yet. Not that I have hope for its return, but I at least know it hasn't been converted into something crappy yet. Peter ---- Edited for bad grammar.

    Where's Mickey's Tail?

And I thought some kid just yanked it off.

    Its a Small World rehab?

Tell me about it. I love IASW at DL but hate it at WDW (haven't yet had the joy of going to DLP). The reason? The facade. The one at DL just beckons you to the back of the park and is so lovely to look at that it justs lifts my spirits, sparks my anticipation, and I enjoy every second of the...

Wasn't WESTCOT pretty much a go at some point? ;) Peter

    Project Gemini

That may be technically true, but I still classify it under that category of attraction because I think it feels that way. Besides, I think the whole "It's only a simulator" idea is awful. We know it's pretend already (we're in a theme park!) so why bother adding an extra layer of pretendness...

Mission Space to suffer the same fate as AE?

Re: Re: Re: Mission Space to suffer the same fate as AE? Well, almost every rumor is almost always wrong. Even Disney doesn't build half the stuff it officially announces. Remember Mickey's Movieland, Roger Rabbit's Toontown, and D i c k Tracy's Crimestoppers at MGM? Remember Beastly...

    New idea for splash mountain

Wait, I forgot...change Splash Mountain? Blasphemy! (Although I think Pooh gets a bad rap) Peter

    New idea for splash mountain

Does anyone know the last time Song of the South was released in theaters? I could swear I saw it as a child in the '80s. Anyway, I think the movie could find its way into the Walt Disney Treasures DVD line eventually. What with leonard Maltin's introductions, it seems to be THE place...

    Animal Kingdom a sleeping Giant!!!

Yeah, but I bet guests would have had a problem with that. Besides, I think Screaming would have been awfully out of place at the Boardwalk. An actual wooden roller coaster (not one painted to look wooden), a ferris wheel, and merry-go-round would have been nice though. Instead, we got Luna...

    New Countries

I think India is unlikely at this point, since Asia in the Animal Kingdom has a predominantly South Asian atmosphere. Same goes for the old Equatorial Africa pavilion, although I would love to see some of those old plans resurrected in Animal Kingdom. As for Brazil, I think we have to wait and...

    Animal Kingdom a sleeping Giant!!!

I think it had to do with the fact that the noise would disrupt resort guests. Besides, they would have to charge individually for it. Peter

    Project Gemini

Excellent point, cloudboy. I'd take it a step further, though, and say that film based rides have TOO MUCH story. Body Wars, Star Tours, Mission: Space...they're the same every time you ride. Besides, the "story" is almost always a riff on the same plot point: And Something Goes Wrong...But...

    Animal Kingdom a sleeping Giant!!!

Well, if I could have my way: AFRICA The Festival of the Lion King would be moved to a new theater somewhere on the western side of Africa. The suggestion of putting it between Africa and Asia near Flights of Wonder seems like a congestion nightmare. In addition, I would love to see the...

    Narnia?

For the record, the above information from the press release is untrue. "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" is the first novel C.S. Lewis wrote in the Narnia series. Lewis originally wrote the books out of order. Nowadays, however, they are marketed and sold in chronological order...

Is The Beastly Kingdom concept dead?

Sigh. Doens't mini-land always mean crappy, off-the-shelf, barely themed kiddie rides? Didn't AK just get Chester and Hester's? Peter

After Stitch, what's next for MK?

Frontierland? Frontierland doesn't need anything right now. With BTMRR, Splash, CBJ, and Tom Sawyer Island, its got a big variety of high quality attractions. If they brought back the Diamond Horseshoe, I'd say Frontierland was pretty much perfect. Peter

    All those UNBUILT Disney-MGM rides....

I don't buy this. First of all, the proposed Dragon Tower and the actual Dueling Dragons attractions are very different. All announced plans for Dragon Tower involved a single roller coaster track going through the decrepit castle and eventually encountering a massive Dragon...

    Stitch's Great Escape is COMPLETE!!!

I sure hope so. CoP is such a great attraction, but I think something has to be done to keep it from becoming a museum piece. Otherwise, I fear it will be shuttered again. I know this may seem like blasphemy to purists, but I think the 2nd and 3rd scenes have got to be changed. The jumps...

    All those UNBUILT Disney-MGM rides....

I'm not saying we won't (of course, it's definitely not coming in the near future), but I've got a feeling that Everest makes Dragon Tower slightly obsolete. The attractions would probably be too similar to have in one park. Peter

    All those UNBUILT Disney-MGM rides....

That's only partially true. Universal had a Dragon roller coaster first, but it is nothing like what WDI had up it's sleeve. Disney's coaster was not going to be dueling coasters and was going to feature large dragon AAs. From what it seems, Disney's Dragon Tower attraction has more in common...
