Can't swing the Poly, so where do we stay?

I've stayed in Port Orleans French Quarter before and I havta say, it was pretty nice for a moderate. Nice rooms, GREAT pool, and good themeing. Coronado seems nice (I've never stayed there), but Pop century didn't do anything for me (visited my sister while she and her family were staying there)

Little Mermaid Clone a Go! (Maybe)

Meh.... I'm a nobody here, but I like the EPCOT version of Nemo better than the DL version..... though the subs are cool....

    Pirate League pictures

AS I understand it, it's kind of a Bibbidy Bobbity Boutique with a Pirate theme.... should pull in the boys. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/tours-and-experiences/pirates-league/

    Hall of Presidents Previews Today

Wow...the last couple trips I haven't even bothered with the HoP, as it seemed so corny. But this sounds great! I'm sorry it wasn't open for my recent trip.

Aerosmith Contract Ending Soon? What's Next For Rock 'n' Roller Coaster?

RnR kicks total rear. IMO, it would be a huge mistake to rebrand it.... then again, I really like Aerosmith. It's a hard-driving ride and it would need some hard-driving music to really sell it. IMO, it has to be a REAL rock band, and not a Disney flavor of the year manufactured pop sensation...

Star Tours, Princesses, Mermaid, DC gate, Pop Century, and more... Oh My!

Sounds like fun stuff if it happens.... except the Star Tours stuff. I'm a kid of the 70's and 80's and all this mediocre Star Wars "Clone Wars" stuff just irritates the heck outta me. Give me Vader, Stormtroopers, Luke, Han and Leia any time!!! Still, I like the sound of teh attraction...

New attractions for Animal Kingdom please!!!!!!

Yeah, I knew about the shows (saw the the Pocy show.... it was a little weak), but I mean a real attraction. The Kali area seems perfect for a Jungle book theme.

    Cash or Travellers Checks?

Ummm.... check card? Honestly, I don't see the need fro tons of cash or credit cards these days. A ATM/Check card is all I need. I just came back from a 10-day trip, and I think I carried all of $50 the whole time. I mainly used it for tips on the way there and back.

New attractions for Animal Kingdom please!!!!!!

I seriously don;t understand why they don't have any attractions themed on Pocahontas, Jungle Book, or Tarzan.

Anyone know about the accident at AKL on June 18?

Hey all, My family and I were leaving AKL for home on Thursday, June 18 when a CM (member of the bell staff) was struck by a vehicle at the main entrance. It looked pretty serious, but when they took him away in the ambulance, he seemed alert. My daughter (turned 7 on the trip) was...

I just got a call from the "Disney Executive Offices" regarding the AC

What coerns me here isn't so much the AC itself (I'll miss it, but I'll live), it's the "generification" of the Disney experience. Places like the AC make Disney unique. Adding more retail and dining space just makes it another place to sell you stuff, and charge you too much for food...

    Pirateland

Well, I will say this: Capt Jack's Pirate Tutorial is about as low-budget and disposable an attraction as they come, but ya know what? The kids (and even some of us Grown-ups) LOVED it. It was interactive. The performers were good, and it made Adventureland feel ALIVE. I hate the "dead"...

    Pirateland

Well, there fads and then there are FADS. Where POTC lives in that spectrum, I'm not sure, but one nice thing about a Pirates theme is that it doesn't HAVE to concentrate on the film or charcaters from the film. After all, POTC the ride existed LONG before POTC the film. One thing I miss from...

    Pirateland

I dunno... maybe I don;t wanna see "Pirateland", but I think POTC the movie is strong, and will remain so for some time. Personally for me, the Jungle Cruise is beyond cheesy, and now with DAK, redundant. The Tiki room has some great effects and animatronics, but is otherwise kinda.... meh...

    American Adventure Changes

They wanted to avoid boos in the theater. I'm being snide... but Dubya is an unpopular president and a very polarizing figure. I'm sure they just wanted to avoid controversy

    Upcoming Developments

Hmmm I could be wrong, but I believe the Tolkien Estate has prevented such things in the past (there was a move to build an LOTR theme park in New Zealand which was quashed). I don't believe the movie rights extend to theme park attractions. It would be AWESOMELY COOL though to have some LOTR...

    SSE refurb date change confirmed

I hear ya... but we've known since the 19th c that Sumer had writing before Egypt. <shrug> But like you said... I'll take it for what it's worth.

    SSE refurb date change confirmed

Maybe I'm just a history geek, but those DO seem like pretty huge inaccuracies to me. It wouldn't take much to fix. Change the narration to say "one of the earliest" instead of "first" for example. But whatever, I still think it's a cool ride.

Cinderella's Castle Character Meal Price Increase + Holiday Premium

WEll it IS overpriced, but I found the food quite excellent on my recent trip. The "Major Domo's favorite pie" was outstanding IMO.

    SSE refurb date change confirmed

Can anyone point me to a thread that discusses what the refurb will do? I rode SSE last week, and while the ride looked pretty decent (IMO), the content was....errrr.... largely erroneous. Or at the very least, outdated thinking. The Egyptians had the first written lagnuage? Uhhh... I don't...
