Have you ever got into any mischief at Disney World?

We drove around Fort Wilderness in a golfcart at night that didn't have working headlights (wasn't our fault - it was a rental) and we got stopped by a ranger. He took us back to our site and wouldn't let us drive it until it was fixed. We've also gone 'exploring' in various...

Overheard funny family discussion the other day.

This was me... at six years old. It left quite an impression on me. I haven't ridden it since, and I'm... shall we say... a bit older now. ;) But not much larger...

First resort stay, new camera, graduation celebration September 2012 TR!

Both Fort Wilderness and Hoop De Doo are a whole lot of fun. There are rumors that the Hoop De Doo's days are numbered though. That is one rumor that I hope isn't true!

    Biscuits and Gravy

They have biscuits and gravy at the breakfast buffet at Trails End at Fort Wilderness too.

I would bet that the vast majority would (and I am sure that Disney is betting on that too). Sadly most people just aren't tech-savvy enough to even begin to imagine the possible ramifications.

It's not. They have a COPPA provision on their website: http://corporate.disney.go.com/corporate/pp.html. It would need to be the same for mobile and FP+. That is the point. If Junior is opted out, then they wouldn't be able to use the mobile device to change all of the FP times together...

Spirited News and Observations and Opinions ...

Unfortunately referencing Junior as 'little Johnny Doe' doesn't necessarily get them around the problem. Simply the act of linking him to his mother's account is considered personally identifiable information. As far as controlling multiple members of a party through one account, each of those...

Spirited News and Observations and Opinions ...

You have to look at the whole picture to see where the problem lies. A big part of NextGen is 'selling' it to guests with FP+ as a new perk and more importantly allowing guests being to change their FP times via their mobile devices. The new extension of COPPA to mobile devices will cause a...

Spirited News and Observations and Opinions ...

It is most certainly a game changer when you add in the new COPPA extension to moble apps/devices. Part of FP+ allows users to add/change FastPasses via mobile devices. Since some of the recipients of these FastPasses are children and Disney wants to collect this data for datamining purposes...

I'm going to take a stab in the dark at this one. Does it have anything to do with the fact that COPPA has recently been extended to mobile devices and Disney is integrating their mobile apps with all of this NextGen stuff???

Yes, one reader would be omni-directional. Add a second reader that works in tandem and you have a 'gateway'. Think of the RFID readers at your local wal-mart. They aren't triggered unless you walk THROUGH them. You can stand next to them with active RFID tagged merchandise and not trigger...

Spirited News and Observations and Opinions ...

I thought of one way that this technology could be used to improve the guest experience - more accurately predicting ride wait times. Right now they randomly give a guest a RFID enabled card as you enter the ride queue. Right now these estimates are really rough. With the RFID bracelets they...

Spirited News and Observations and Opinions ...

RFID is a radio frequency technology. They can easily be installed in inconspicuous areas (within walls, door framing, etc...) and not be visible to guests. I'm sure they wouldn't put them everywhere, just the areas of the park that they are interested in gaining additional information about...

Your Favourite Secret Restaurants in WDW.

If you are a fan of fried chicken, the Giddyup and Go at the Trails End takeout at Fort Wilderness is a great deal. 10 pieces of finger-licking good chicken with fries, coleslaw and biscuits for under $25. If you like baked beans, ask for the cowboy beans. They aren't on the menu as sides...

Have you found any secret, hidden, or fun things at Disney World?

I hit one of those once, but it was by accident so I wouldn't even know where it was to do it again. I'm not a very good shot, so I just keep moving the gun and shooting. I looked down at my score at some point during the ride and screamed 'Holy Hannah honey, look at that!' That's the only...
