    AMC Theater Remodel

Are these regular theaters or dine-in? Hard to tell how many of the theaters are getting recliner seats.

News New Park Entrance coming to Epcot

Glad to see the prisms coming back to the fountain! The rendering of the play pavillion isn't bad either. Doesn't excite me too much as an adult without children but at least it's somewhat within the future world theme. I'm pleasantly surprised.

    News Disney Riviera Resort announced

I'm generally ok with having rooms that are more modern and subdued (in line with recent refrubs) AS LONG AS the common areas and exterior of the resort are highly themed (i.e, Copper Creek). In this case all of the above are incredibly generic. While nice enough, it could be a JW Marriott or...

News IllumiNations Dining Package coming to Epcot later this month

Yeah, that's why I said that *particular* menu. A 3-course meal of scottish egg, fish and chips and dessert with two of the cheapest beers on the menu would be $80 with tax and tip so it's "only" a $5 markup (and theoretically cheaper if you order more than two beers). Of course, most people...

News IllumiNations Dining Package coming to Epcot later this month

That particular menu with two beers would set you back about $63, $80 with tax and tip. So it’s not an egregious markup (assuming you wanted to eat and drink that much in the first place)

News IllumiNations Dining Package coming to Epcot later this month

I mean, it’s not for me but compared to the other fireworks viewing “parties” it’s a pretty good value. It doesn’t cost much more and comes with a three course meal and unlimited alcohol. Pity to take away yet another prime viewing area for an upcharge paid event though.

Jaleo by José Andrés to open in Disney Springs West Side in early 2019

I live in NYC so I'm quite used to cocktails in the $13-14 range. But $17-20 is just obnoxious.

    AMC Theater Remodel

Much needed renovation. It's a shame they aren't renovating /installing recliners in the majority of theaters though. I recall reading this location is one of the top five most profitable for AMC nationwide- they should be able to afford recliners here like they do in most of the NYC theaters.

Jaleo by José Andrés to open in Disney Springs West Side in early 2019

Menu is out - nearly every cocktail costs $17-20?? They're out of their minds.

    News Disney Riviera Resort announced

Looks kind of basic.. landscaping could be nicer (queen palms, etc) and the building itself is rather plain. Looking forward to seeing lthe feature pool along with lobby and other interior renderings.

Sharp Dues Increases for 2019 - 7.6% on average

Big maintenance fee increases across the board, including over 9% jumps at AKV, BWV, Poly, HHI, and VB. Apparently mostly due to increased employee compensation costs per new collective bargaining agreements. Minimum wage increases to $10 next month, $11 by December 2018 and $13 by September...

News Tony's Most Merriest Town Square Party comes to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for 2018

I can't stand how they call everything 'artisanal'. What the heck is 'artisanal meat'? You know it's just packaged slices of salami...

News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

At least it's not another tower like Coronado and Riviera. Looks to only be six stories.

News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

I work in real estate development and see how it makes sense for them. The cost difference between building a "deluxe" vs a moderate or value resort isn't as much as you might think, especially when using Disney's definitions (their deluxe isn't on par with a true luxury resort). It's worth it...

News Disney Lakeshore Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

Yikes, the rendering looks awful modern for a "nature inspired resort". Besides the porte cochere it looks like a generic Hyatt Place hotel. One interesting tidbit: "some fun and even surprising accommodation types that families will find irresistible."

News Disney introduces new Florida Resident Theme Park Select Pass and add-ons for other passes

The Disney Select tickets appear to be gone as well. There is a new 3-4 day option but the price is variable and they have to be used in consecutive days, not within 6 months of first use like the old tickets.

News Disney introduces new Florida Resident Theme Park Select Pass and add-ons for other passes

Yep, expires December 31, 2030. In practice no idea how it would work if you tried to activate it say 15 years from now and the Silver AP doesn't exist anymore/ they don't publish the calendar for it anymore. But I'll be activating it in April so not worried about it.
