News Zootopia and Moana Blue Sky concepts for Disney's Animal Kingdom

This seems like a long attempt to salvage a very simple comment. Even if your personal opinion is that a flat ride in one of those spots would be too harmful to the look of the place, the point is, that’s not why it isn’t being built. It’s not being built for the same reason they tore up some...

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

Logic tells me they’ll announce another plan next August and Dinosaur will not close until after that at the very earliest.

News Zootopia and Moana Blue Sky concepts for Disney's Animal Kingdom

Not sure what you’re seeing… Looks like nothing more than trees to me, but even if they use that as an animal trail or something, they do have two other large and readily available areas.

News Zootopia and Moana Blue Sky concepts for Disney's Animal Kingdom

So you’re halfway admitting they won’t build it because they don’t want to, but still trying to imply there’s hardly room. No, there’s an absolute poop ton of easily-accessible room for another flat ride or two.

News Zootopia and Moana Blue Sky concepts for Disney's Animal Kingdom

I actually thought you were joking the first time you said it. There’s plenty of room, especially to the sides of Restaurantosaurus and in front of Dinosaur. I imagine the reason they won’t do it is the same reason they closed Primeval Whirl without any replacement four years ago.

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

The Fly is very obscure regardless of who released it. I don’t think 99% people give this kind of stuff a single ounce of thought or care.

News Wakanda joins Coco, Zootopia, and Encanto on Disney Parks' future blue sky expansion list, reveals Josh D'Amaro

I think there’s not a chance this would go in World Showcase for multiple reasons, but especially when there’s an unused building right next to Guardians for a conceptually-similar attraction about Vibranium-powered technology.

HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

The problem with the theming is you can’t tell how short it is, so yeah, that’s kind of a valid knock against it. With Barnstormer you can see the whole track so there’s no surprise when it’s over in like 15 seconds. Even Seven Dwarfs Mine train, which dwarfs this coaster in length, surprises...

Well OLC has nothing to do with Hong Kong Disneyland.

News TRON Lightcycle Run Standby Line and Lighting Lane status

I’m an idiot, I thought I was in the Guardians thread and not the Tron one. I didn’t ask for Tron.

News EPCOT's Harmonious to be replaced with new nighttime spectacular Luminous

And rightfully so. Happily Ever After is one of the highest-rated things at the entire resort (if not the highest). Meanwhile they are struggling to create a successful nighttime show at Epcot or Animal Kingdom. They’d be inexplicably and extraordinarily dumb to spend money on trying to replace...

News Wakanda joins Coco, Zootopia, and Encanto on Disney Parks' future blue sky expansion list, reveals Josh D'Amaro

The story would be “we heard from Peter Quill, who recently helped finance an extremely popular pavilion in his favorite theme park, that the people of Epcot absolutely love Wakanda. So we decided we had to bring a taste of it to them!”

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

He did greenlight the most expensive roller coaster ever built, among other things. I would say the money wasn’t spent nearly as effectively as it should’ve been but it was still quite a bit of money especially compared to years prior.

News Zootopia and Moana Blue Sky concepts for Disney's Animal Kingdom

There’s not a single ride in DAK that’s not maintaining maximum capacity. Primeval Whirl was too before they just got rid of it without replacement.

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned much is the rate of theme park inflation, which has outpaced regular inflation. Everest was built for $100 million. What would that cost them today? Not that they’d ever build a generic coaster themed to India or whatever, but I’m going to guess at least $300...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Pandora didn’t replace any attractions and did expand the footprint. They moved the meet and greets and the Festival of the Lion King show, which only took up maybe two acres anyway. The other 10 acres was a field of grass. If anything it indirectly replaced Primeval Whirl. Galaxy’s Edge...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

What kind of weird scheme are they running here? They stand in front of fans and reveal ideas without a budget. 10 days later, at the same place, they stand in front of investors and reveal a budget without ideas. Meanwhile they haven’t announced a new ride for this place aside from the Splash...

You’re right that you didn’t say that, but I think you certainly implied it. But it’s not a problem, I understand the need for an interesting headline!
