Personally, I don't think making an overarching "Epcot universe" would make much of a difference with regards to the general public. Disney seems to be pushing Epcot toward more of a standard theme park model, so it's become more synonymous with Test Track, Soarin', or alcohol in the World...

I normally use the path between the two parks to get a run in during my crazy vacation schedule but I doubt most people share that sentiment. It's a pretty long walk but during peak hours it could be faster than waiting for the boat. The boats also take forever to dock at the International...

I wasn't saying it wasn't. I just didn't focus on it because it's not really the backbone theme, ya know. :P But I get what you're saying. I agree...but maybe the World Showcase is a little bit of a stretch haha.
