Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

It's the balancing act between high volume without turning away large crowds that's the problem. A concert wouldn't be so great if you are always waiting in line to get in hours after it started.

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

Not all of them are AAs, I believe, but rather a handful dispersed amongst them to provide vibe of all of them being AAs. It's an old movie trick when it comes to crowds. The screen will "look out" into space where the battle is taking place. It's a hangar, after all.

    Rumor Entertainment Cuts Coming

I haven't seen the new F! yet myself, but considering the Fort had been closed on TSI for years already I honestly like the new backside of the river more than the older incarnation. So even if I end up not liking anything about GE there's been no longterm negative effect for me.

Is new leadership needed at this point?

He has a few dollars to cushion the blow.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

At this point I don't see why they'd bother. This summer they learned that 10-hour line headlines means "smash hit" and overmanaged crowd control means "flop". With the way social media works the complaints about long waits and crowds indicates great success.

    Rumor Entertainment Cuts Coming

It makes for a charming hub, but the rest of Hollywood is surely on the reformation schedule within the next decade.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

I think they'll gladly take some "It was a 9-hour line!" type headlines to counter the "It's so dead at DL!" headlines right now. They WANT it to be a crowd control nightmare to be perceived as a smash hit. What Disney learned this summer is to never again plan too well for large crowds.

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

Just heard a couple co-workers discussing how they were waiting for the reservation requirement to end for GE at Disneyland. They thought it was reservation only for the entire summer. I was able to correct them, but I imagine this anecdotal experience is one happening all over. People heard...

If it was a 6 month difference I'd be bothered by it. As it stands a 6-week difference isn't gonna phase me.

Damage Control PR Spin for Star Wars Begins

They'll regret that this Fall when APs swarm the parks after waiting out their blockout dates.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Are we returning to Endor, though? In RotJ it is called "the forest moon of Endor". So we know it's a moon. Is Endor the name of the moon, or the name of the planet the moon is supposedly orbiting? Is the Death Star debris on the forest moon of Endor (which may or may not be called Endor...

I mean, it is a major holiday weekend.

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

Falcon's queue never being slowed down by fastpass line makes a difference. Take away fastpass and that Space Mountain line goes down notably.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Not all rides are liked by everyone. I've been on RDR once. It was fine. I've never felt the desire to wait over 30 minutes for it to ride it again.

If they wanted they could do seasonal events. One summer the Resistance pushes back. Another summer the First Order regains their foothold. If they improve the live entertainment they can base shows around it.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Wait - isn't this what everyone complaining about the interaction of Falcon wants? A ride where you observe scenery around you? RotR has two life size AT-ATs in it that will shoot lasers at you while your vehicle moves by. That alone is enough to have me excited, and that's just one show scene...

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

It would be easy enough to have the pathway to the third ride transition people thematically into why one would pilot an X-Wing. A secret Resistance back alley stronghold, for example.

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

I agree that the Falcon is the iconic imagery for the *land*. But the ride itself was never intended to carry the land in isolation. Yes, it's an E-ticket, and it was meant to draw people in, and be well liked (and we have months and months to go before we know the real take on it from the...

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

It has the most iconic theming of the land, but ride experience-wise it's not in the same level as what they are attempting with RotR. MF:SR is an interactive simulator when it comes down to it, and an interactive simulator by itself would have never justified them building this land. No, RotR...

News Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge - Historical Construction/Impressions

Not yet. I'll make up my own mind about it when I do. But I can also analyze a situation based on other variables than my personal opinion. The money spent, the way the buildings are used, the fact that they have other scenarios they can introduce, etc. - it would take an accidental fire...
