Up Close With Rhinos vs Caring For Giants

We did the Caring for Giants tour in 2022 only to be disappointed by not having any elephants to see in the backstage pen they took us to. The cast member said they must be sleeping somewhere out of sight but that our tour fees would go to a good cause. That was of very little benefit, and she...

Rivers of Light - Time for a reevaluation?

We loved Rivers of Light. We actually had reservations for the ROL dessert party before Disney cancelled it along with our reservations. The kite show that occupied the theater after ROL was dreadful at best.

    Rumors. Musings. Casual.

Happy to hear that. Sincerely hope it is true. The guest experience at Disney has truly gone to crap and I don't see going back again until they are able (if they even can) to go back to the great vacation experience that it once was. I was once somewhat of a "big spender" at Disney in that we...

Hollywood Brown Derby vs Sci-Fi Dine In Theater

We have eaten at all 4 of the major restaurants in Hollywood Studios (Sci-Fi, Brown Derby, Hollywood/Vine, & 50's Prime Time). Unfortunately, I cannot vote for either choice here because I think the other two are better. Brown Derby: Worst steak I have ever had. I am a steak connoisseur and...

    Space 220 Lounge Reservations

Par for the course. My last trip in December 2022 I could not get Space 220, Ohana, or almost none of our desired options...and I was also Johnny Spot at 0600 at the 60-day mark. I wish they would go back to 6-months in advance.

EXPENSIVE, CROWDED AND IS A BETTER THOUGHT THAN AN ADVENTURE

Concur. Our last trip in December 2022 was miserable and we have no current plans to return to Disney World. Definitely going back to Universal. Looking forward to the 3rd Universal Park in 2025.

5 Challenging Problems For Disney To Solve

I think that of all things is by far the biggest single problem. If current management only cared more about the guest experience and less about how to make you pay more while you are there, then much would change. But you are correct, current management just does not care anymore.

5 Challenging Problems For Disney To Solve

Agree completely. Since COVID, Disney has all but destroyed the once great guest experience in Florida! I hope Disney stock continues to falter until they realize what they have destroyed and take steps specifically to improve the guest experience and not just revenue.

How much of the DIS stock plummet is related to the parks? In particular, WDW..

Per a few minutes ago, it looks like Disney stock just dropped below $80 to $79.33 per share. The diminishment continues.

    “Temporarily Closed”

Sounds like typical Disney these days. We went in December and had a terrible time compared to previous visits. My goodness how far this once great destination has fell!

News Bob Iger is back! Chapek is out!!

Your right. Only 3/4 of all Disney hotel rooms do not offer this. Just the 1/4 deluxe rooms. You seem to want to focus on that.

News Bob Iger is back! Chapek is out!!

Having room service at Deluxe resorts only is still a poor situation at Disney and my statement about the industry standard is completely applicable. The moderate and economy resorts still have no room service while every Hotel 6 and EconoLodge offers it now. I stayed moderate last...

News Bob Iger is back! Chapek is out!!

Well, they did not make the beds at Gran Destro Tower in December 2022, and I have heard of no changes since then. I think you had better check again. You are incorrect.

News Bob Iger is back! Chapek is out!!

Roger That! One thing for sure is that Disney is little more than a shadow of what it was just 5 years ago, and they have turned a once loyal fan into an everyday critic. I have no plan to visit Disney again until they at least make up my bed every day. An ignored industry standard that helps...

    Ditching Disney

Roger that! I am certainly doing my part. I talk negatively about Disney every day to as many people as I can. Hopefully it comes to a point that Disney begins to care about their reputation and the guest experience again. Right now...not so much. I have seen other recent stories beside the one...

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

Agreed. Disney, current management anyway, would never care enough about the guest experience to do this. It would be nice though.

    Party size and availability

We made a reservation for 3 at Steakhouse 71 last December (because there were no reservations for 2 but yes for 3) and then showed up with 2 people. It was no issue at all.
