I've been going weekly during July and not once has the finale worked. They had a short refurb earlier this year that fixed the entire scene (everything was working), but a month or so passed and it was already broken again.

Yesterday was planned fireworks but they were canceled due to wind. We're exiting "spring break season" right now, so we'll be back to Friday - Sunday fireworks only (Friday - Sunday = Disneyland Forever, Monday - Thursday = Mix Magic Projections)

Mix Magic has been planned to use pyro every day for the last few weeks (peak Spring break). Whether or not they’ve actually used pyro (fallout zone and “high winds at higher altitudes” is another story).

From personal experience (both using and just observing) it is true that DL's Genie+ reservations are nearly always available for every attraction. The only one (like you mentioned) that sells out often is Rise of the Resistance. You shouldn't have a problem taking full advantage of Genie+ at DL...

Guess so. I'm not a supporter of Genie+ / a la carte LL but when pressed for time, I'd definitely knock off another 4 tickets, merch, and food and save on the difference. I don't think we would've been able to do everything we did at DHS on the old fastpass system (not saying it's bad).

And they spend less time in the parks, resulting in 2 days less of possible merchandise & food sales ;). Our family did a 3-day WDW trip and used our 2nd day to do DHS and Epcot (with Genie+) and we finished everything we wanted. That's a full day of food, merch, and ticket sales we passed up...
