News Bob Iger is back! Chapek is out!!

Unfortunately this is so par for the course in corporate America I’m not sure if this really rocks the confidence of investors, either. Blame the modern MBA programs that’s centered so much on short term quarter-to-quarter shareholder value, a deterioration in corporate governance and ethics...

News Bob Iger is back! Chapek is out!!

I did/have…. and I listened to the earnings call. Ok, let me rephrase this since I didn’t mean this literally. What specifically did Iger do/say on the earnings report that would get him replaced? The 7,000 layoffs is not out of line with what the Street was anticipating. He underplayed the...

News Bob Iger is back! Chapek is out!!

What happened on the earnings report? Or is this a joke in reference to McCarthy’s last supposed excuse for firing Chapek?

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

I definitely recommend going to Disneyland. As far as being angry: It’s natural to have nostalgia for rides we used to love don’t let it anger you that much. I think folks are just trying to warn you to keep your expectations in check. I do appreciate people sharing what’s being said on...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I hope you’re either armed with A) a shield; or B) salad dressing. Because I hereby predict an onslaught of whatever the equivalent of a bunch of virtual vegetables are about to be thrown your way lol. It’s an old fashioned food fight, bayou employee owned co-op style. 😉

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Agree. Not sure if there’s anyway you can add trim brakes to the drop(s) but I thought I recalled some mention months ago they were looking at making changes to the drops to reduce the intensity of the splashdown/wetness to make the ride more appealing for families with young kids so as not to...

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Better? Their boat sank and they got to walk a real plank. Disney should be charging them premium pricing for this one of a kind LARPing experience.

    Questioned for Park Hopping?

Happened to me as well when we stayed at the Grand CA over the holidays. We would cut through DCA entrance to get to DL. It was flagged as “suspicious activity”.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I still support the retheme as well to be clear, I think the story makes sense as backstory presumably leading up to the attraction and in the surrounding area. I do think the challenge will be making sure it fits the bayou/critter theme which will be more fitting with the log flume...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I’m fine with the backstory if it’s focused on the queue and QSR. I am concerned that if this is the totality of the ride this a bit too “Happy go lucky Food Networky” for a ride that features a large drop. In food terms this story is half baked. Needs a heaping tablespoon more “Bayou” and a...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

So how much of this is queue backstory vs ride? Like I feel like I’ve seen images of bayou critters playing cute musical instruments in the bayou that I was on board with… as opposed to Tiana’s Food Network Adventure.

Can we get the Louis lost his trumpet plot back? Kidding 😉

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

I’m hoping/presuming that this explanation is simply the backstory for the queue and connecting QS restaurant. The ride platform itself really is going to demand something a bit more “adventurous”. This is still, after all, a log flume with a 50 foot drop.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Since I want to assume positive intent on Disney’s part here for sake of argument. Are guest surveys contributing to this evolution in mindset? Post-COVID concerns? I still remember the 4 hour wait down Main Street in 1995 when I went with my family for Indiana Jones. While it was chaos it’s...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I appreciate the back and forth. Even if we disagree. I notice we keep citing 3+ hour waits. Given the sheer number of rides and attractions at Disneyland and MMRRs hourly capacity do we have any reason to believe this attraction would have these kinds of waits in the absence of VQ even now...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Interesting that in the same sentence I’m being ascribed as a conspiracy peddler you’re conceding my point here. If a spoonful of pixie dust helps the medicine go down I’ll acknowledge Disney’s intentions may well have been with the purest of intentions for better guest experience originally...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Isn’t that what DAS is for? The ADA compliant program the park has had in place for years now. If not then let’s go to all VQs. Isn’t that part of the reason they cleared all the space in front of Roger by removing the fountain and creating the turf area? Serious question: wasn’t the VQ borne...

    What is Disneyland’s Thesis Attraction?

I vote Disneyland Railroad. For all the reasons others have mentioned. As I noted in another post here somewhere, it also is the first attraction that is prominent upon entering the park, connects the various disparate themed lands, establishes a berm between the park and the outside world...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Was your 2 year old disappointed about missing out on Splash? If so, congrats on raising a future NBA superstar. Joking aside: Splash Mountain was handled the old fashioned way. The issue I have here with the VQs and with creating this type of lottery caste system is it’s deceptive marketing...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Novel idea but too much salt doesn’t sit well on the pallet..plus gotta watch that sodium intake, I say let’s theme it to a pepper mill.
