Rumor 40% Capacity Soon? What if I Told You That We’re Already There

The only plus to the extended lines is the feeling of almost constant progress. Until you get close to the ride, you almost do no stand still...you are moving. The line for Frozen was back into the China pavilion, so my family got in line and I went to grab a beer for my wife and I to share...

Using the WDW 2021 Military Discount? Better hurry!

Sounds like a lot of ad hoc changes to policy that may come back you bite you. Not everyone at Disney is on the same page with this.

Using the WDW 2021 Military Discount? Better hurry!

They were referring to the salute tickets. Basically she told us they were expanding the six ticket limit due to COVID.

Using the WDW 2021 Military Discount? Better hurry!

At the ticket both, we were told they were relaxing limits on military tickets for next year. Even though we redeemed 4 6-day park hoppers on Dec 28th, they told us we could do 8 more in 2021. I suspect they will announce a new 2021/2022 deal in Sept.

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

We were there last week and walked over from Boardwalk area around 7:30 am for a 9:00 am opening. We were not at the front of the line for entry at that point, but were not too far back. I do not believe the parking lot was open for cars yet at that point, but Skyliner was running. Not sure...

Rumor 40% Capacity Soon? What if I Told You That We’re Already There

EPCOT is my happy place, but I couldn't wait to get out of there last week. The construction, COVID protocols, and closures combine to make it a challenging environment to enjoy and get your money's worth.

Flight of Passage vs Rise of the Resistance

My 7 year old rode both rides for the first time last week, so I asked him the same question. His answer, "my favorite ride is ROTR and FoP". He wasn't wrong.

Rumor 40% Capacity Soon? What if I Told You That We’re Already There

I believe most parks were at or near capacity last week. With no real entertainment, some dining outlets closed, capacity limitations on attractions, and retail/dining/extended attraction queues taking up enormous amounts of space, it was very crowded. This will just force more people into...

Trip Report We Said No Then We Said Yes: 2020/2021 In One Week

another observation: Cast members were as good as ever. They worked really hard to be engaging and helpful. That part of the Disney magic is alive and well. On the other hand, I could not understand what they were saying a majority of the time. Talking with a mask and, in many cases, a face...

Trip Report We Said No Then We Said Yes: 2020/2021 In One Week

Random recollections will probably continue to pop into my head. If I think of anything interesting I will add them. Here is the latest: It was strange to spend a week at WDW and only see smiles on the faces of children <2 years old. It is a place you generally bring your children just to...

News Unscheduled Rock ‘N’ Roller Closure

I had two days at DHS and two days at EP last week. RnR and TT were down most of the time I was in those respective parks. Seemed like a pretty chronic problem with both rides. Missing the rides was bad enough, but having all the people in those queues go to other rides just made the logjams...

    Resort Hopping?

We had a similar experience last week....asked for our reason to visit the Grand Floridian. The resorts are part of WDW, and we enjoy live research on where we want to stay or not stay on our next trip. It was very un-Disney to feel like you had to sneak in vs receiving a warm welcome. That...

    COVID Eating and Drinking Rules

Just got back, so I'll provide my own first-hand answer to my original question. The rules seem to vary slightly from location to location and/or the cast members involved. Generally it was not an issue to eat or drink in the extended queue areas....numerous times I heard cast members tell...

I am not going back to WDW until...

After saying no, I decided to go New Year's week. I don't regret it, but I won't go back again during COVID. It was kind of a mixed bag overall, but for that week, the positives mostly outweighed the negatives. I wrote a trip report if anyone cares for more detail.

Trip Report We Said No Then We Said Yes: 2020/2021 In One Week

After saying no to a Disney visit during COVID, I decided there was an unusual window of opportunity in Dec/Jan…35% capacity during the holidays is relatively uncrowded, and we thought it would be a unique opportunity to see the parks decorated. Also, the impact of mask wearing would be limited...

    COVID Eating and Drinking Rules

Thanks. I don't have any real problem with the rules...you know what they are and you can choose to go or not go. I would have a problem if they sold you food/drink without a place to eat it, and made it overly difficult to eat while standing around. I do get that allowing eating/drinking...

    COVID Eating and Drinking Rules

I’m sure this had been covered, but I don’t want to sort through 1000’s of search hits on COVID. What are the rules once you get a drink or snack in the parks? Find a place to stand and finish it? My understanding is you cannot walk while eating and drinking. Do you have to go to a...

I am not going back to WDW until...

Disney always required lots of planning to get the most from your trip, but it also allowed flexibility. With no park hopping and advance reservations required for park tickets, your trip is really rigid. I have a really hard time committing to a trip under those circumstances. I would like...

Walt Disney World Park Hours cut starting September 8 2020

With so few activities available outside the parks, I wonder if this is going to cause crowd problems and overwhelm pools and other limited services available at the resorts. There is a ton outside the parks at WDW during normal times, but that seems to be dramatically curtained for now.

Walt Disney World Park Hours cut starting September 8 2020

I agree. Pandora is simply stunning at night and a must-do for me every trip. Other parks also have a unique nighttime look and feel. Even when I am done with rides for the day, I really enjoy the atmosphere at night. Missing this would definitely be another down side to going now.
