    SPOILER: The Acolyte -- Disney+ Star Wars -- begins June 5, 2024

No one said anything about a "hate network". And yes, there are comments that come across as sexist and homophobic. Note the disdain for the notion that it could have been two women involved together some way.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Years of free Fastpasses have conditioned us to see them as necessary when visiting the parks. The new system is priced low enough that most people will use it. At the end of the day, it's just a ticket price increase above and beyond the norm, disguised as something else.

    SPOILER: The Acolyte -- Disney+ Star Wars -- begins June 5, 2024

The usual trolls certainly haven't, based on the casual sexism and homophobia being peddled here. These are the same people who will still be harping on about the Starcruiser two years from now.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

I never found it to be overwhelming or restrictive. Since dining is generally booked in advance as well, I always knew which park I'd be in each day. Booking Fastpasses for the day wasn't an issue. It's not like I was forced into a rigid schedule for the most part. You can always move or skip...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

They changed it because it didn't work fine. People would collect Fastpasses and save them all for later in the day when lines were longer, backing up the Fastpass line.

    Clothing for Signature Question

Disney's guidelines on the California Grill page are pretty broad: This restaurant is a Disney Signature Dining experience offering fine dining with a distinctly magical flair. Guests are expected to dress accordingly in attire that respects the restaurant's sophisticated and upscale aesthetic...

    SPOILER: The Acolyte -- Disney+ Star Wars -- begins June 5, 2024

It was abrupt, but she also found out she'd been lied to and betrayed over the course of many years. It was less abrupt perhaps than Anakin turning quickly because he was denied a promotion and needed to save his wife.

    SPOILER: The Acolyte -- Disney+ Star Wars -- begins June 5, 2024

I thought this series was solid overall. It did feel a bit like we were waiting for something big to happen, and didn't quite get it, other than a few cool lightsaber battles. It ended on a note of, look at the cool things coming in season 2, but wasn't quite satisfying enough as a standalone...

Disney Treasure, DCL’s 6th ship, debuts in 2024

I haven't been on DCL in quite a few years but in the past I found the food was better than other lines on average. There weren't any menu upcharges so you'd get lobster tail one night, whereas other cruises charge for it. Cruise ship pools are always small and crowded, I never have any desire...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I don't think many people would consider that an equal accommodation by any means, but it brings up how the changes to Fastpass may be a factor. Three free fasptasses, booked in advance, was probably enough to: a) reduce the desire to lie in order to get DAS. b) meet the needs of people with a...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

DCA was the same as I recall. When you set super high expectations, you run the risk of not meeting them. Anything less than a rousing success and it's going to be endless YouTube videos touting Universal's arrogant blunder. There's something to be said for exceeding expectations. I'm also...

    SPOILER: The Acolyte -- Disney+ Star Wars -- begins June 5, 2024

I find it interesting that the spin on this is that it's "the second least popular Star Wars show". People are trying to make it sound like this massive bomb but the least popular Star Wars show might be more popular than most streaming shows. I'm sure Star Wars and Marvel are very important...

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

I imagine it will benefit from the prestige factor of being a theatrical release, which can enhance awareness and interest compared to direct-to-streaming content. Just like iTunes does the "Bring the Theater Home!" selling point for any theatrical movie, even if it opened a week earlier and...

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

He left a TV show to make a movie that could now, ironically, be a TV series. Seems like a better fit from an audience engagement perspective but I understand why he sees it as meant for theaters given the types of movies he's made in the past.

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

“The audience response to Horizon, and enthusiasm for seeing our story continue in Horizon 2, has been incredibly gratifying." That is some generous spin. I wouldn't be surprised if the second doesn't even make it to theaters. It's a four part series no less. That's a big risk and...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens May 22 2025

Volcano Bay is also a must visit for me when in Orlando. I feel a 2/2 (IOA&USO/EU) or 3/2 (IOA&USO&VB/EU) would be fine. A 2/4 split is just forcing people into spending too much time at the older parks, which can each be done in a day, especially if it's not your first time.

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

It's so unpredictable. Last year it was all about Oppenheimer and Barbie. The era of sequels was over. It was all about the cultural event (Barbie) or the prestige quality release (Nolan + IMAX). This year it's all about the familiar. An original franchise with the so-so reviews Despicable Me...

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

For me, when we're talking about the fourth movie in the series that needs to find a way to repeat the same basic premise, everything that happens is arguably forced. You're not wrong, but there's a suspension of disbelief that allows the movie to exist. If I can accept that the Detroit cop...

Disney (and others) at the Box Office - Current State of Affairs

I checked and it's tracking to open in the $50 million range, which is decent but falls short of the original when inflation is taken into account. It seems like a smart movie to release, as it's fun type of movie to see in a theater, the premise hasn't been beaten into the ground through other...

No LL for international guest ?

I can't imagine a travel agent charging for this. Before online bookings were a thing, my agent did all my dining reservations for example. I imagine many will do the Fastpass booking regardless, for those customers who don't understand it or just don't want to. They make enough on commission...
