Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

This virus is fading because of the vaccines and the fact we are in the early stages of herd immunity. The mostly downward trends will hopefully accelerate as those factors become more prevalent.

Covid Vaccine Updates and General Discussion About Vaccines

Lets discuss callousness if you wish. Death of children is not something anyone on this site has taken lightly as far as I can tell. However, ignoring the consequences of the heavy hand and the edicts of the govt and their adverse effects on our children seems to be unimportant to some...

Covid Vaccine Updates and General Discussion About Vaccines

Science has clearly shown that kids are at low risk for this covid virus and are proven to not be significant spreaders to adults. In fact school environment has proven to be one of the lowest risk environments. You are correct kids have died form the covid but the science works big time in...

Covid Vaccine Updates and General Discussion About Vaccines

Schools are closed all over the nation and some are now saying they will stay closed until the kids and teachers are all vaccinated. Those stories are all over the news and they are true. Of course this all led by the teacher's unions that enjoy their power. If schools want to have...

Covid Vaccine Updates and General Discussion About Vaccines

I am not against kids getting the vaccine but to close down schools until they have the vaccine is not the answer. My grandkids-all 6 of them have been in public schools since August and there have been absolutely no problems. Can't see how requiring a vaccine could improve on their situation...

Covid Vaccine Updates and General Discussion About Vaccines

You find a few examples to make your case. That is the easy way to avoid the science. I will stand by my properly informed comment. This has been more like brainwashing and this site is one of the best example anywhere. Just compare Disney World with Disneyland. One governor guided by...

Covid Vaccine Updates and General Discussion About Vaccines

Kids are not likely tto be transmitters of covid and they probably will never need vaccines. The average person is 98 to 99% going to survive and have mild effects of covid but the press has some people in a state of constant fear. I realize covid has many unknowns but kids being at high...

Describe your first trip to WDW. How old were you? What year was it?

My first visit to DW was 1976-was 32 years old. Took my five year old son. Went again in 1977. Still have some of the tickets we didn't use that came in the ticket books. Kind of interesting collectible. No resorts and nothing but MK. The park was open until 1 or 2 in the morning.

Same price - less hours - no after dark magic

We will absolutely not be going back with early closing hours-it is a no brainer for my family-3 generations and 12 people. The Disney wokeness is also keeping us away.

    Under-Appreciated Attractions

It is difficult to find any attraction at Disney that one can't appreciate. My list is long of unappreciated attractions.

Disney theme parks facing 'lost year' of revenue in 2021, analysts predict

If they continue to close the MK at 6:00 PM they will have more problems. If they are going to close at 6:00 then they need to reduce the ticket and resort prices substantially. My extended family of 3 generations and 3 households cancelled in Sept because of the reduced park hours and if...

News Disney world attendance down 80%??

We cancelled our trip in September-12 people three generations- with 8 days of tickets and 9 nights at OKW resort. At a price tag of over 20 grand we cancelled when they decided to close the parks as early as 6:00 and 7:00. No value in that-we are willing to live with the problems associated...

Walt Disney World Park Hours cut starting September 8 2020

The reduced hours are a disappointment and a hard pill to swallow. We cancelled a 9 night trip (12 of us-3 generations) that was scheduled for Sept 19th. When the total cost for resort-OKW-tickets-travel-etc over 20 grand with these reduced hours it was simply not worth the money. If...

News Disney will be ending complimentary MagicBand distribution to Disney Resort hotel guests and moving to smart devices

Appreciate the info but to be honest I don't know what a world card is and assume AP is annual pass. Neither situations will help me. Thanks for info anyway.

News Disney will be ending complimentary MagicBand distribution to Disney Resort hotel guests and moving to smart devices

I am one of those from the stone age that does not own a smart phone. Oh well will just have to purchase a Magic Band- it is just another added cost to go to Disney. I will put in in the category of the ridiculous resort parking fee.

    The Splash Mountain Appreciation Thread

In this day and age nothing is safe from being cancelled or changed. It will always be Splash Mountain to my family. We are kind of traditional people. Wish Disney had traditional people in positions of leadership.

Rumor: I'm hearing crowd levels are down

Unfortunately I fully understand the severity of COPD and appreciate your concern. By the end of May I fully expect the entire situation will change as the hype and misinformation will be in the rear view mirror. If the worst case scenario like occurred in China develops we will reevaluate...

Return of the Main Street Electrical Parade ~ Disneyland CA

My grand daughters love the MSEP and on our last trip to WDW they missed it. I would love to see it return to WDW. It covers the characters and the stories while touching and reminding us of what makes Disney so special.

Bob Iger: "We Don't Believe We Have A Pricing Issue At Our Domestic Parks"

Disney is a special place for me, wife, my grown kids and spouses, and 6 grandkids. Each time we go it loses a little appeal because of the crowds, the cost, THE EARLY UNECCESSARY CLOSINGS, and the rip off money grab disguised as a resort parking fee. We keep going but each visit it loses a...
