    Are you buying Genie+

I was dreading what the lines we're going to look like without FP for our trip in October. We take a big extended family trip to WDW every two years or so, so IMO it's worth it to pay a little bit to make the most out of it because who knows the next time we'll be back. If I was a local who...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

I apologize for not reading through all 40 pages, but now DAS and Genie + are essentially the same thing? So if we have someone with a disability in our party, it doesn't pay to get Genie+?

Yeah, looked like the drivers, boxes and side rods too. Absolutely fascinating stuff.

News Disney Very Merriest After Hours

I have no idea what point you're trying to make. It's not like they increased the price $10 and now we're crying poor. In 2015 was $74 per adult. About $20 less than a full day ticket. As I said in 2019, it was $99 per adult, once again about $20 less than an average priced full day ticket. Even...

News Disney Very Merriest After Hours

Huh? It's entirely about the price point. I can see nominal increases year over year, but I drew the line when a ticketed event became much more expensive than a normal day in the park in combination with reduced hours and less entertainment. I went to the Christmas party in November 2019. It...

News Disney Very Merriest After Hours

You forgot it's now an 'After Hours' event. I had someone try to justify the price jump because it's not called a party anymore. Just terrible.

News Disney Very Merriest After Hours

I just don't understand how this pricing is sustainable long term. I could see people with pent-up demand and a vacation fund they haven't touched in almost 2 years, but $249 each?!?!? So over $1,250 for a family of 5 for a 5 hour party? Eventually they'll run out of people to pay this much...

Is this the first piece of actual Fastpass replacement system news pertaining to WDW? https://www.wdwmagic.com/other/mymagicplus/news/12aug2021-disney-ceo-bob-chapek-comments-on-the-upcoming-disney-genie-app-coming-soon-to-walt-disney-world.htm

Coronavirus and Walt Disney World general discussion

While I know break-through cases are a thing, it's obviously nowhere near as common as unvaccinated individuals catching it. Since there is atleast a decent portion of the country that is vaccinated, I'm hoping that this wave will be over quicker. Between either vaccinated individuals or those...

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

Ha yes, I've seen that when a project gets broken up between different groups. Everyone works on their own piece and they don't exactly mesh in the end. I have no idea how WDW Engineering operates, but I would've thought they would have a more streamlined process by now, I guess not.

    News Walter E. Disney overhaul

Ha yes, looks like the entire loop is complete minus that 500' stretch. They would never have passengers like that, but I could see them backing all the way around to Space Mtn to pull into Main Street.

    News Walter E. Disney overhaul

Even if the track won't be completed by October, I wouldn't be surprised if they had a train steamed up for the 50th to pull into Main Street during a ceremony.

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

My family never rope drops, we would always rely on strategically booked FPs to ensure we wouldn't have to wake up at the crack of dawn on vacation to ride what we want to. While monitoring wait times during our last trip in March, it became apparent that was the only way to be able to do...

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

If you're an AP who lives within driving distance, sure. If you're a family with young kids who just are able to take an annual trip for a week, it's not that relaxing to simply skip rides. 'Sorry kids, Seven Dwarves Mine Train is a 2 hour wait, maybe next year'

FastPass+ Most Certainly Not Coming Back As It Was

$100 per person for fastpasses, plus $125 for a park ticket, plus $200/night for a hotel... so $1,325 for a day at Disney for a family of 5, and we didn't cover food yet. Awesome.

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

Ah, thank you! That makes alot more sense, I thought when they removed the crane and put on that netting mesh, that was it. It's a shame at this rate it probably won't be ready for October, especially since that 500' gap could easily be closed in a week. And yeah, just seems like complete...

News Tron coaster coming to the Magic Kingdom

Is there any reason why they haven't started work on the tracks/shed yet? I thought once the work on the canopy was done that meant it was all clear for the track to be rebuilt. I saw a rumor on FB, which I'm taking with about a tablespoon of salt, that they 'messed up with the clearances and...
