I'm sure the investors will get right on this tragedy.

🤔 You mean the place was so busy that the tourists stop coming? Gee I wonder what 2018 Iger is going to do about that.

So we're back to the original point: the losses at WDW are so small as to be completely offset by gains (and then some) at the other parks and cruise line. Which either means WDW is only down a small insignificant portion, or it's revenues are just not that important to the entire portfolio...

If you really don't think that, and you do think the sky is falling... when? When will we actally see the negative impact of all this bad management? Another year? Five? A decade from now?

Attendance is entirely up to them. I think they are worried about tourist bookings, since they are leading their offerings with multi-day tickets. If they stay soft, they can extend discounting to locals (offer AP add-ons and the like) too keep the park full, but they seriously run the risk of...

Maybe, but it's not bad enough to be having a significant impact on the revenue coming in. I'm sure their per cap spending is through the roof right now too, which might be a better place to be positioned for long term growth. Like I said before, we've seen the parks when they had 20M guests...

I'm not at all denying the COVID surge is a thing. It just seems silly to try to argue that Disney shouldn't have raised prices, and implemented crowd controls, if your basic premise here is that people would have paid any price to go. You're basically validating their attendance strategy while...

LOL "covid surge" has just become the new "it's the heat" for you.

Actually that was part of my point: either they have figured out how to get more from less, or WDW just isn't all that important to their numbers anymore.

Literally... record breaking profits. This has been the problem with this thread since the beginning. Some want the lower attendance to be a referendum on the subjective quality of the experience, but it isn't. So they have to ignore the objectively good financial results the division has been...

And? The first two quarters of FY24 were trending higher than FY23. Even if it starts to taper off in Q3 and Q4, it's most likely going to be comparable year over year, and a huge win for Josh.

It could happen. He's seriously in contention. The CEO race is definitely one of those park trends you need to stay mindful of. Maybe... but only if it's like a soft chime. Maybe like when you leave your car door open. I'm sure they are far more worried about shifts in the US economy and the...

2023 parks revenue peaked at $32.5B even while people here kept insisting the attendance being low was somehow a bad thing. 2024 has been trending even higher than 2023. Sure it may soon be reaching it's end, but there hasn't been any alarm bells ringing just yet.

Dumber all the way to the bank I guess. Just for context: MK attendance in 2019 (max ever recorded: 20,963,000 Parks revenue for 2019: $26.2B MK attendance in 2022: 17,133,000 Parks revenue for 2022: $28.2B Either they have figured out how to get more from less, or WDW just isn't all that...

It's been working so far. This thread has been yammering on about low attendance since 2023, but last year was one of the most profitable the parks have ever seen in their history. If there comes a point where it stops working, you would expect to see action from Disney and yet ... so far...

Achieving the same level of money coming in, with fewer people in the park is always going to be the better option. The more people you cram into the place, the worse the experience is. We've seen this, back when they used to cram 20 million people into MK a year. Having fewer people in the park...
