News PHOTOS - Prince Charming Regal Carrousel behind scrims for refurbishment

Very true. Then again, facade upkeep used to be something that was done regularly and small problems weren't left to sit until they became big problems. I agree that it's good to see that they are at least working on refurbing the facades. They just would have never gotten to this point had they...

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

Also, at that time, Disney relied more heavily on corporate sponsorship than they do now. Over the years, those sponsors either had financial difficulties of their own or realized that they weren't getting the return on their investment that they had hoped. It was kind of a perfect storm of...

News PHOTOS - Prince Charming Regal Carrousel behind scrims for refurbishment

Since the constant presence of scrims and construction walls seem to be the rule now, rather than the exception, in the parks, I'm always happy when one goes away. The worst ones, for me, are the ones that go up on Main Street that have the painted facades on them. I suppose it's better than...

News Park attendance showing significant softness heading into the Fall 2018

As much as I unironically love IaSW, I can't imagine that there are many occasions where a FastPass would be necessary. Even though it's a stop-and-start load into boats that takes a little longer than some attractions, I remember the line always moving fairly steadily.

    No evening EMH?

Just a few days ago, I noticed that they extended operating hours on a couple of days that we'll be there, so that kind of thing seems to be in flux depending on how many people they estimate will be in the parks. I'd just wait and see.

Do the parks sell larger-sized clothing?

I would assume that it has the same inventory as the website, wouldn't it? EDIT: So, I downloaded the app. It does look like some items are available in 3XL, but it's definitely limited. Some is better than none, I guess.

Do the parks sell larger-sized clothing?

I noticed at the Shop Disney site that the largest size they sell in men's clothes is 2XL. Is this true of the parks as well? I'd really like to get a Haunted Mansion shirt while I'm there, but I typically wear a 3XL shirt. At least if I know ahead of time that I'm too fat for Disney I can save...

I really enjoy his videos. I watched the Universal one this morning and learned quite a bit.

    Jungle Cruise Re-Imagining

I mean, he took the Nautilus everywhere. Stevenson's novel, The Mysterious Island, was a follow-up to 20,000 Leagues and had Nemo and the Nautilus in the South Seas. It's a stretch, sure. You're right about rivers not really being the kind of place one usually finds large submarines. :) WE JUST...

Any theories on why Disney poorly maintains many of their rides?

Because a spreadsheet somewhere showed they could save money and still stay within what they consider acceptable GHC (Guest Hemorrhoid Count) and AFP (Accidental Finger Poo). ;)

That is an IP-based attraction that they seem to have gotten right.

Rumor Stitch's Great Escape Replacement— Don’t Hold Your Breath

I don't know about that. It's muddy, to be sure, since you can see ships in the distance inside the fort, however, as @marni1971 said, you don't see any live pirates until you go down the waterfall. All you see are skeletons, including the ones playing chess in the queue.

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

I think that it was an interesting idea and has some really nice parts, but still feels kind of cold and barren. It's not a bad attraction, but for all the money and time spent on it, they never seemed to be able to get it to be something special. I'll take Test Track over something like GotG...

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

I think what inadvertently killed Future World was EuroDisney. It cost so much money and was initially such a huge flop that there wasn't money to put into keeping the other parks up-to-date for years. By the time that there was money, late-stage Eisner was in full effect and we started getting...

That's because Florida is a "Right to Work" state. The only way unions work is if enough people join them. If people are desperate for work, they'll often take jobs with no benefits and low pay because they have to live somehow. By removing the ability for Unions to require membership, companies...

Rumor Stitch's Great Escape Replacement— Don’t Hold Your Breath

Neither HM nor Pirates had a plot, but they both have a story. In the Mansion's case, you are entering a haunted house where you find yourself trapped, with the only way out being to go all the way through it. Your living presence stirs up the ghosts, who become more and more active until the...
