“Industrial Accident” near France Pavilion in Epcot

The reports in local Orlando media are that the worker was an employee of Sunbelt Rentals and was not a Disney employee. He was 58.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

Walked by there twice today and the answer is nope it’s off to the side. If you want to look for it and let it bother you then it could but otherwise just walking around, nope.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

Why one group per gondola? People hop on the monorails and sit across from each other, they hop on buses and do the same thing. The gondolas have two sides why would riding them be any different.

    Email Reservation Confusion

Exactly. This is the time of year that the new Dining Plan contracts are being negotiated and signed. Some are finalized very late. If the one for Tepoan Edo has not been signed then it will sow for 2019 as not on the dining plan. And ithe number of credits may stay the same year to year or...

News Spaceship Earth closing early each day next week for planned maintenance

Agree, and I think what we saw at Spaceship Earth adds credence to that. In the past it’s always a walk on in the afternoon. Britb his time though.

News Spaceship Earth closing early each day next week for planned maintenance

Not so true this past weekend. Fastpass was required Saturday and Sunday virtually all day. Lengthy standby lines even at 3:30pm and the FP were rather long too. I agree, most days required only in morning, maybe, but our experience this week says that things have changed somewhat from how it...

News UP! A Great Bird Adventure Getting A Rewrite

Pretty much our response. The performers have been given little to work with. The Indian performer tries hard but her part seems to add very little. The Up characters were totally extraneous and to us actually detracted from the show. Very little humour, slow pacing and bird acts that were not...

We broke down on Jungle Cruise

Wasn’t it 3 shots? 2 was all clear and four was a medical emergency I think.

Body Found in Burning Car near Fantasia Mini-Golf (Epcot Resort Area)

The one thing I haven’t seen reported in this thread is that homicide detectives are also involved in the investigation, at least according to WFTV tv and other Orlando media. May mean nothing other than ruling out homicide. But until they come to some conclusions we likely won’t hear anything.

Unlocking Guest Rooms With Smart Phone - Gimmicky? Or Useful...

If you look at the pictures above it is not Bluetooth but NFC. You have to touch the phone to the lock or nearly so. I was an IT manager and now also a hotelier. I agree, nothings perfect and some hacks of NFC locks have already occurred. But it’s significantly harder than Bluetooth which would...

    Why is October so busy?

Far more than the Swan and Dolphin. Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach Club are the main venues. The conference is so large the executive attendees only can get rooms in those. Thousands of other rooms across the property are taken by attendees.

    Upgrade Question

Here’s a little realism from a hotelier. Upgrades are given for the hotel’s business reasons and in most hotels front desk ha e document giving one and why. Upgrades are relatively rare. To get one you have to meet the hotel’s criteria and they won’t tell you what they are. At Disney World with...

Anyone know what this notice could be pertaining to?

We have also at the Poly. The CL staff told us what they were doing each time. Sometimes it was fireworks testing, sometimes it was shooting an ad, and once it was for a corporate event.

    Bed bugs at the Poly?

If you are changing to GF for other reasons that’s one thing but not if you are running from bedbugs. You are as likely to find those at GF as the Poly. Still check your room. I’m a hotelier and can tell you that bedbugs come into most hotels on guests luggage and personal effects. If a bag...

News WDW Resorts to add fees for parking

For us this is the straw that breaks the camel’s back. After 26 years at Poly CL nothing has angered us more. The $24 per night is only part of it. It’s that parking is free for people who just want to visit and just look around. So I have to pay to park at a resort that costs $900 plus a night...

    Service Dogs

But specifically cited as such by the US Dept of Justice so yes they are. PTSD does not “require” it but controlling the anxiety that can be part of it is legally something a service dog can do, as we’re the other things I mentioned. It isn’t me saying it or my opinion, it’s the DOJ saying it.

    Service Dogs

Not really ONLY. Some service dogs are trained to do things calm a person with PTSD, remind a person to take medications, alert a deaf persons n of hazards, assist persons with autism, and other tasks that human partner has difficulty doing or can’t. All would fit the legal definition of service...

    Poor show at Epcot 1/28/18

I really don't see what is supposed to be poor show with the Imagination Pavilion. The tops are darker because of the angle causing less reflection towards the viewer and the triangles are structural steel that is heavier than the others and tie the structure together. The two buildings can...

News Disney to pilot electronic-only transactions at its resort hotels

How would you think? Now cash and have always taken some and will continue to do so. If that became totally cashless, which I seriously doubt in the medium term, then cashless on the hotel bill via magic band. And I do that now for some items. This is getting a bit silly. My point is that when...
