News Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closing for refurbishment in January 2024

It was a smooth ride prior to its refurbishment. Felt brand new

News New Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge

Great idea - I'm just not a fan of the ODV carts that have found permanent homes throughout the parks now. I can understand the need of moving/staging in ODV carts for higher attended days, but there are quite a few throughout the parks that have been there for years now. Would not only look...

Orlando Becoming East Coast Headquarters for Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products

Disneyland is the far superior park, and the original, but MK is "the" Disney park unfortunately. WDW is the money maker for the parks division.

Orlando Becoming East Coast Headquarters for Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products

I can be wrong, but Florida at the end of the day is their flagship resort that needs to see continued investing and having the majority of Imagineers closer to WDW sounds better to me. And with Universal Creative home in Orlando, it'll be easier to poach them when it comes to attracting talent.

Orlando Becoming East Coast Headquarters for Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products

Well aware, just think that Florida being "home" for the entire team makes far more sense from a strategic perspective. Not just 4 WDW parks, but also 3 Universal parks that can provide inspiration for them.

News New Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge

I like this idea - not a fan of a hat kiosk being the first thing you see inside the land lol

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

People have been avoiding "typical" super crowded days like 4th of July for years now. People have become "smarter" thanks to all of the available resources/online hacks on when best to go. Problem is that now everybody knows (since it's pretty much necessary to do homework on a WDW vacation)...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Disney is willing to risk a drop off in Genie+ sales if people are more inclined to stay onsite with this becoming a "perk."

Attendance sinking on the West Coast too?

At WDW, Mondays & Tuesdays are some of the busier days compared to what you'd assume would be a busy Friday/Saturday. It's bizzare

Orlando Becoming East Coast Headquarters for Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products

Does Disney still own the land? Now that all of the fighting between Disney and the state is over, is Disney still keeping the land in case they decide to proceed with this? I'm all in, selfishly, for WDI to move to Orlando so they can look at how out of shape our 4 parks are.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Doesn't surprise me with the amount of FL resident deals available at the moment. It's a relatively cheap time to visit the parks for FL Residents. $239 for 4-Days ($59 a day) & 30% off rooms. Being able to get 4-day tickets for less than $1K for an entire family of four is rarity these days.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

It really bothers me that GOTG isn't off VQ yet. My wait-time model suggests it'll only be an hour-long wait on an average day during peak times.

Interesting point - could Disney be seeing a direct decrease in satisfaction thanks to the amount of party nights?

News New Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge

Good points, was just thinking of why they haven't seen a more proper window/space for them. The options are strong enough to be the only offerings on the menu at Tortuga Tavern. The cart tends to close/run out by night, so there isn't much lost sales at the end of the night happening for fireworks.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Epic Universe will be a creative masterpiece, and finally convince all the nay-sayers that Universal Creative can create anything Imagineering can. Universal Operations team however will find a way to bungle everything with how they run the parks and cause the potential success of Epic...

News New Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge

Even when it was open, Tortuga didn't do much business (and the food offerings were abysmal). For any operations/F&B insiders here... how come WDW hasn't moved (or given) the egg roll cart a more /permanent location? It's current location is a bit of a tight pinch and the Tortuga Tavern offers...

News EPCOT to be festival-free for summer 2024

I've mentioned this before, but people are certainly burned on festivals... but mostly since they run for such a long period. I think Epcot can benefit from shorter and more unique 2-3 week festivals in between the larger ones.

News EPCOT to be festival-free for summer 2024

Considering this seems to be a test as to how Epcot can "stand on its own"... how likely is it for a new festival next year? With Epic Universe taking over just about every media outlet next year, a festival would at least keep Epcot from falling off a cliff. So far Epcot has been busy, but...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Supposedly (and have) gone after key folks in food & beverage, merch, etc. UOR has updated a lot of in-park dining locations, driven by previous WDW managers/employees. I still think UOR would benefit more from poaching WDW's in-park operations team managers. You can say whatever you want...

News Disney plans to accelerate Parks investment to $60 billion over 10 years

Yes, the building being built is for show support. They are running the show on weekdays... since I saw it on a Tuesday. The verbiage is to provide Universal leeway on some days when USF closes earlier than 9PM when the show can run.
