Skull Island: Reign of Kong from construction to opening

Any updates on continued softs today (Friday 6/10/16) and potentially through the weekend?

Soarin' Expansion and new Soarin' Around the World film

I assume that we're not talking about these "state of the art" projectors? ;)

    Universal Picture of the Day

It appears from that photo that the stage surface was covered with what might have been a padded layer...? That's what it kinda looks like. That would make sense, given the stunt elements of the show, but I've never noticed that before. Great photo!

(VIDEO) Gaining easier access to UNIVERSAL & IOA

Thanks guys. I guess that segment was edited out of the video, and the narrator seemed to suggested that they "skipped" bag checks... I thought maybe something had changed, but it seems clear from your feedback that nothing has changed, security measures remain in place, and the video is...

(VIDEO) Gaining easier access to UNIVERSAL & IOA

It's odd that UOR would implement higher security measures (metal detectors & bag checks) in the parking garage hub, while leaving multiple routes that circumvent the common path for entry. That would be like WDW moving the MK security check point to the TTC ...but of course WDW seems to...

Skull Island: Reign of Kong from construction to opening

Did Gringotts soft open to the public? I was under the impression that there were not significant softs for the public other than press, media, employees, etc. It also seems like UOR doesn't do softs like WDW does (or at least used to).

Skull Island: Reign of Kong from construction to opening

Yeah, I was gonna say, KONG makes the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train look like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. But you kinda beat me to it. ;)

Do any Universal rides or attractions close down or get delayed in rain/thunderstorms?

Everything that Disneyhead'71 wrote = accurate.

    New Marilyn Monroe Show

I never understood the logic behind a meet & greet with a "face" character after a performance, outdoors, in the Florida heat ...particularly a glamour icon character. M&G with a sweaty performer after some sort of stunt or athletic performance? Sure. But a perspiring Marilyn...?

Skull Island: Reign of Kong from construction to opening

I read through some of the recent comments criticizing the ride vehicle style, and I also had some initial concerns (mainly with respect to view and rider perspective), but then I realized that I have NEVER overheard anyone complaining about their ride/view experiences on similar vehicle-style...

Skull Island: Reign of Kong from construction to opening

How ironic that, immediately following the airing of the movie, the local NBC news program aired a story about a 3 year old child who fell into the gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo, which resulted in the gorilla being shot and killed (although the child was essentially unharmed, despite...

Skull Island: Reign of Kong from construction to opening

There are going to be numerous tv spots for this attraction aired during King Kong on NBC this upcoming Saturday, May 28, at 8:00 pm (eastern). Along with the film, this is going to basically be a huge commercial for UO.

    Hulk Coaster Details Revealed

RRR is the WRONG attraction to feel like you're in a "looser" seat - particularly during the vertical lift hill

Skull Island: Reign of Kong from construction to opening

I had the same thought upon seeing the ride vehicle design - that it would be unfortunate to sit in those first few front rows.

Talk me into the rip ride rockit

I like RRR for what it is. It's worth riding because it has unique ride elements that aren't available in other coasters in the area. I have found Space Mountain, Dragons, and Hulk (in its latter years before the rebuild) to be physically bumpier/shakier ride experiences. As someone else pointed...

Skull Island: Reign of Kong from construction to opening

I'm guessing that guests won't have to use lockers for their bags in KONG, but can anyone confirm that one way or the other?

I don't recall ever seeing a brunette Kimberly at USF. There may have been one here and there, but I usually associate my memory of her as being blonde.

Fast & Furious to Replace Disaster

I appreciated the audience participation and interactive [motha] nature of Earthquake/Disaster. Does anyone know what became of the 'models' that were displayed in the original preshow?
