Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I think it is. They've loaded the attraction with details and props where there were none before. They've given us more to look at. Detailing used to be something the fan community cared about (but of course, this isn't really about the quality of the attraction ... is it?) The scenery and...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I thought Splash was a good ride. I preferred the Disneyland version over WDW and Tokyo since the two latter attractions didn't ever feel like log flumes.. more like boat rides ala Small World. Tiana is just overall a better attraction.

Maybe for a couple more years. I always hated the one in Tokyo though.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Riiiight. But Splash Mountain, with a ride system copied from Knotts, animatronics stolen from America Sings and an IP based on a 40 year old movie was a masterpiece. Sure.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I think this is just a sign (pun maybe intended) of changing times. You're working with an audience that always has a phone in hand. Constant input and stimulus. Always reading and looking over pictures/images. It makes sense that just having long stretches of attractions that are essentially...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

This just seems to emphasize quantity over quality. It doesn't matter why or how they just need to fill the place with AAs? Do you think Pirates would be better if they filled the bayou scene with AAs too? The AAs from America Sings never really belonged in Splash. They were old, limited in...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

So one animatronic? That's it? The inclusion of the new animatronics outside and the screens inside more than make up for it.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Oh I see. So it's perfectly acceptable to have periods without animatronics when you are trying to set a scene in say.. a bayou or something. Got it.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Where is there dead space that there wasn't on Splash? I seem to remember that from the drop of the first lift to the first stop there was.. absolutely nothing on Splash. This is a huge improvement.

Ride looks pretty good. Better than Splash in most places.

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

There seems to be this generic belief that *no one* wants to see the parks change in the ways that they don't personally subscribe to. It's incorrect. There are people out there in the world that think the Disney parks are old, outdated, dusty relics of a bygone time and Disney still has a...

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

You are making the assumption that there isn't a market for hotels that look like luxury brand hotels, but still offer the convenience and amenities Disney resorts offer. I disagree. Disney does too apparently.

To you, maybe. Other people have different tastes. Look at the differences between Aulani and the Four Seasons right next door. Same price point, same location, totally different styles. There isn't a right one or a wrong one there.

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Just want to point out here, that there are a lot of potential customers that look at the "themed" areas of the resorts and see "old" and "outdated" and "stuck in the 90s" and want something more modern and clean looking. If Disney thought they could save money by NOT upgrading the rooms, and...

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

There are a lots of documented Walt quotes supporting a park that is always changing and improving over time. Was there one specifically that suggested he didn't want changes in the park? Anything at all? "I wanted something live, something that could grow, something I could keep plussing...

News Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

Sure. Thanks. Artwork is just a concept and doesn't always represent the finished product. That's always been the case. People should temper their expectations and not be disappointed if certain things don't pan out. Still enough reason to be excited for the changes and potential of what can be...
