They need this. With Epic Universe opening soon, WDW better get their act together. Progress is shockingly, impressively fast over at Universal.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Are we expecting good discounts again around November / December? We're debating spending points for a few extra nights but are low. I'm wondering, if they are having attendance issues, they will offer discounts again like last year.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

I don't love that Disney has leaned into trying to capture more of the high dollar customer market. However, they're running a business and upgraded rooms, convenience at a cost, etc. has always been part of traveling to just about ANY destination. It's the nickel and diming, and the removal of...

Disney Vacation Club offering discount for VIP Tours at Walt Disney World

Yeah that is what I meant, a one and done kind of thing.

Disney Vacation Club offering discount for VIP Tours at Walt Disney World

A family of 5 we're going on a cruise with is paying $1,900 and change for a 45 minute "dolphin encounter". Again, relative to what you are getting, 8 hours of backstage access, skip lines, etc, the price really isn't that bad compared to other firms of premium entertainment/ experience.

Disney Vacation Club offering discount for VIP Tours at Walt Disney World

Honestly the price isn't bad, 8 hour tour for 10 people. Say, two families of 5 at $600 an hour. That's only $2,400 per family for an incredible once in a lifetime experience. People around here spend $90 to have a greasy stranger deliver ice cold Chili's to their house for dinner...

News First (Small) Part of Grand Floridian Lobby Refurbishment Completed

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Their new goal seems to be making their resorts as generic as possible to appeal to the Hilton and Marriott fans, or something.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

Latest data shows attendance way down from 2019 levels for the same time period around 4th of July. Not looking good for the rest of this year for the Mouse. But I'm going mid-november and would love to see some lighter crowds.

    News Destination D23 2023

As if Disney didn't have enough problems on the movie front. Now they're going to go into defensive mode and let Universal gain huge ground on them with Epic Universe with nothing to counter it except fake plans using blue sky concept art. Things are looking rough for the mouse right now.

News Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Permanently Closed Fall 2023

I'm going to repost something I posted a while back. I think either this will happen OR it will be utilized to "expand" Galaxy's Edge: ______ Why can't they just make this a separate ticketed, multi-hour experience? You arrive at galactic star cruiser at 9 am, you board and experienced an...

    Beach Club Lobby Refurbishment

Yeah that was when we did our first trip with the kids sometime around 2014, September. Wasn't packed like it is now that time of year.

    Beach Club Lobby Refurbishment

Does the fact that they're refurbishing this right in the heart of Summer say anything about attendance numbers? It just seems odd to me that they wouldn't do it during a different time of year but I know there's been a lot of debate about what is the busiest season now.

What do you mean by dropped? They dropped it, as in got rid of it?

News Walt Disney World Holiday Events 2023

Hooray another mediocre projection show. BRING BACK THE DREAM LIGHTS. Oh and also, even though I can afford it, there is zero chance I pay those party prices. But it will sell out anyways so, oh well.

News Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours coming for resort guests

Can someone explain the business reason for Disney allowing this? I assume those hotels pay Disney for this perk, but surely they will lose more money by people choosing to not stay in the expensive by comparison on-site hotels? The perks for paying the Disney premium are being eroded more and...

News Walt Disney World Holiday Events 2023

I think it's pretty much obvious that they're going to bring the Dream lights back. They're taking off all the stuff on the castle that prevented them from doing it the past few years. It's also something relatively simple for them to do and it's a huge marketing tool.

News Disney Dining Plan Returns in 2024

Aren't alcoholic drinks at Disney restaurants usually $15+? I was estimating $25-$30 in "savings" by someone having the plan. That would bring the rest of the plan down to $65-$70. But it still seems that you have to stack your trip with the most expensive meals on property to make it really...

News Disney Dining Plan Returns in 2024

They include alcohol because to people who can't go one day without a drink, it's a great deal. Alcohol has massive mark up so it's an easy "give"for Disney. Unfortunate that these plans only make sense if you drink.

Orlando Becoming East Coast Headquarters for Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products

Buying Fox. Starting Disney+ instead of partnering with an existing streaming company. Those are two huge money sinks for Disney, that I believe were big missteps hurting them badly right now. The recession won't matter, we've basically been in one for months if not over a year, so NBER...
