New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Ooof. I mean at least it’s movement, but over a decade 😔

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Oh most likely why, but how do they get away with it? You think in this day and age where things are more accessible it would change.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I have always wondered why there isn’t a larger handicap accessible bathroom required on planes. There are definitely people out there who need it.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Yes, that is why it makes sense for conditions like IBS to be excluded from DAS. It is happening everywhere, not just in lines. I say this as a person whose husband has IBS. He has strategies depending on the situation. Sometimes he wears an adult diaper just in case. Yep, it’s probably...

Yep, this is my husband. He won’t eat anything on travel days until we get to our destination. He will drink water or ginger ale, but sparingly.

If you are there that long you can probably just get away with only purchasing it a few days. Or go early for park drop or late nights to try to get on some of the rides with less waits.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

You can talk to the CM before entering the ride queue. Let them know you may need to leave the line due to your disability and your partner would need to leave to assist as well. Ask what options there are. They may ask you to wait and leave if you have to then return to the LL after, or they...

    Any news on POFQ refurb?

    I believe so.

    Any news on POFQ refurb?

My understanding is building 1 is renovated and open and that building 2 should be open any day. They are currently working on building 3 and I think took down building 4 (or will be soon). Rumors are they won’t be done by the end of the year with all buildings. Likely early 2025. But no one...

Universal is no longer requiring IBCCES. Non date based ticket DAS approval will now be 240 days instead of 120 days. Most of the rest is rehashing or just talking about possible changes/solutions for some

    Shades of Green Resort

Maybe it has changed. When we stayed probably 5yrs ago I believe the schedule for the busses was not that often, but more like every hour. We did end up driving to most parks and even ubered to DS because we didn’t want to drink. Worked out well for us and then could leave when we wanted. I...

Yes I’ve said similar before! Now my son thinks he understands a 30min line and will say he can wait, but reality is not that.

We did not have this issue. We arrived after our time for guardians and they didn’t care. Just explained we had DAS and they converted it and let us through the LL.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Good point! If it is impotent to me to be able to leave a line quickly and I know that Disney has long lines and I am choosing to go, then I would buy LL.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Sadly people still post it. I try to report to admins when I see it and sometimes they get deleted. One group I’m in is paused for a month. Likely why…

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Oh 100%. I’ve seen people tell others in fb groups what they need to say to get approved and tell people to do it even though those people don’t really have those issues. Because people believe they should be eligible regardless of what Disney thinks.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I think this is a really good point that people forget stand vs wait. There is a big difference.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

But is there an issue exiting the line currently? I’ve only seen reports from people in ECVs, which they were able to eventually get out with the help of others. I gave an option of using wheelchairs instead of ECV in line. Although that could be problematic for a single person who can’t...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I said they could offer it more. I don’t know how many people realize this is an issue, or if it is an option at most rides. I don’t use an ECV so honestly am not sure. I’m guessing most people would prefer to use their ECV in line anyway, but Disney could put something on the website of it...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Didn’t they already alter their lines to be ADA compliant years ago? Altering them more would be costly, as with any sort of project. They are already compliant so why should they need to alter them more? I read a report where someone said more wheelchairs have been available at lines for...
