Darth Vader and gang not on Star Wars Hotel killed idea long ago.

Yeah the strange part to me is - why do you spend Four Billion Dollars to buy something, and then not use the heart of it? Hubris, I guess, to think you can improve on a classic...

News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

You're right of course. But all this over-analysis is bewildering to me. We'll never know if it could have succeeded, because it was *doomed from the start* because of its price tag. Doomed because of two reasons: 1) *Their natural audience could not afford it.* When I first heard about the...

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

That's true. Black and white. TWDC is barely in the black, not doing well because of the D+ investment and ESPN's reduction in profits (and other things, but that's 1 & 2). Because of this, they can't go and spend billions (more) on theme parks. D+ might eventually look like a wise...

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

This unfortunately is incorrect. The multibillion dollar conglomerate has to show a profit too; otherwise it'll be gobbled up by a bigger conglomerate that *will* show a profit.

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

...and someone said above that villains work because they counter the "good guy." So, Villains Land would need the "bad guy" to be sort of the protagonist; to look at the story from the other side. ...and I've had plenty enough of that already in everyday life. There's still a place for...

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

AGREE. Other than maintenance, they should forget about the MK for ten years or so. EPCOT & AK needs their attention desperately, then the Studios. Heck, I'd rather they do some work on the water parks before they spend another dime on the MK.

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

Yeah, and that's why I think people's desire to have them move faster is ill-founded. There's plenty of "new" at WDW. There's no need to rush more in *right now.* I want them to take their time and do it right... as I haven't heard a good idea for the expansion yet.

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

Y'all are unreasonable. If you're so upset with The Mouse, why don't you just stay home so the lines will be a little shorter?

News 'Beyond Big Thunder Mountain' Blue Sky concept revealed for Magic Kingdom

I want them to take their time with this decision. The worst thing they could do is just slap the first idea they have in there. Whatever they come up with, they need to plan it out, then let it simmer on the back burner for a while to see if the brain trust still likes it a few months later...

Yeah I knew all of that. I was trying to make a succinct point: the MK is better now than on opening day, or any other time in its history.

    Ditching Disney

My whole family prefers Pooh to Mr Toad. I disagree, but Pooh is a huge character that means the world to many people. Certainly more than the relatively obscure Mr. J. Thaddeus Toad. 20,000 Leagues is my favorite former ride, but it was sacrificed for a whole land expansion, including Little...

    Ditching Disney

I've been going since '76, and I say the Magic Kingdom is better than ever. What about it is in decline? Sure, I miss Mr Toad & 20,000 Leagues, but they've been replaced with other attractions that (probably) more people prefer.

    Ditching Disney

For a little perspective, we went to a regional amusement park just yesterday, primarily to see a concert there. We had to pay $60 admission per person. This place wasn't worth a $20 ticket. Half the rides were broken, and the ones that were open were glorified fair rides.

    Ditching Disney

Yeah I don't get that either. The Magic Kingdom is as good as it's ever been. Same for Disneyland and Animal Kingdom. Epcot is seriously diminished, and I also miss the old Hollywood Studios, but I don't think that's what they're talking about. I get it that you might not like the rising...
