News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

So then I guess we’ll know if they changed to projectors there.

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

I wonder if we’ll get a hint of what they did to the HitchHiking ghost scenes when HMH opens. Were those little “Christmas presents” that end up in our doombuggy (instead of the hitchhiking ghost on Classic Mansion) already projections or were they peppers ghost? I don’t ride HMH often but just...

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

I wonder if they knew it was going to take this long or if they ran into delays. 7 months seemed like enough time for an exterior queue. Elevator or no elevator. It did rain a lot this past winter though.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Great point. The obvious work around though would have been to scrap the cheapo figures and use the old AAs for the critter bands. In this scenario, the only purpose built AAs for TBA would be the new high end AAs/ characters from PatF. I bet you however that even if this wasn’t a cost cutting...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Another reason it doesn’t work is there is nothing we see in the movie that indicates that this sort of thing would happen. In the movie Louis is a special animal with special abilities. So now he’s just one of many in the bayou who can do the same thing? In the movie you had fireflies...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

The staging is so awful… here’s Tiana and Louis standing next to a bunch of small critters who happen to already be assembled and are playing the middle of a dark bayou with nothing else around for no damn reason… and here’s Tiana and Louis standing behind some bears who happen to already be...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I agree but I don’t know if their standards have fallen as much as they just don’t want to pile on the negativity and don’t want to be associated with those of us that do. Most of the people around here know it’s not up to par. No matter how they feel or felt about the retheme. But I agree that...

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

Just checked out Poseidons review. Never heard of him before. Disagreed with much of it but he came across as fair and a bit more nuanced than some of the other reviews I’ve seen. But then towards the end came this line… “While Tiana’s may have fewer animatronics, many of them are far more...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Speaking of Mama Odie, anybody else find it kind of redundant and annoying that Mama odie is there before every drop. #multiplemoods She’s also just has way too much presence on the ride IMO. I don’t find her character to be that appealing and she was maybe what, people’s 6th favorite...

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

Lol even if the holes were covered up they would still look glossy, plasticky and bad. It’s a little harder to pull off human being figures that close up especially when you are cheaping out like that. Wasn’t a problem when the AAs were fur and feather covered animals. These figures are not good...

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

My inner dialogue when I had to unsubscribe from some DL parks vloggers on YouTube I’ve been following: Me: I can’t be subscribed to these shills Other Me: But you might miss out on some good content and you like most of their other stuff Me: What good content? Everything Disney has done...

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

I think that probably can help describe why some 30 and under year old Disney park enthusiasts or casual fans might prefer TBA ( or at least pretend to like it more or get swept into the hype of a new ride) but not most of these vloggers. At least not the ones I’ve pointed out. They re older...

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

That’s honestly insulting the intelligence of your audience as are many of these vloggers in the theme park community. It doesn’t even make sense to frame the praise that way. When have you ever heard someone say “I really liked it, it had multiple moods.” Lol. That comment is a direct...

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

“More fleshed out” “Multiple moods” Can’t these shills try harder? Do they think we’re blind and deaf? There is literally one mood in Tiana. Happy. And maybe happier. More fleshed out with what? Trees and grass? Also thanks for reminding me that I need to cancel my subscription to her...

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

You don’t have to comment on it. Thousands of people already did on the YouTube Disney POV alone. But I’d agree that any sort of suspense, different antagonist or tonal variety would be better than what they did on the final lifthill. Makes no sense on any level.

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

Sometimes I really do try to give the imagineers the benefit of the doubt. I think maybe they steered clear of replacing Facilier with a different antagonist as it would just remind people that the fan favorite one from the movie and his song are not there. But I feel like there were so many...

Wow that’s interesting. That must have all ended in the early to mid 80s? Don’t remember any of that from my trips in the late 80s. Maybe I forgot. I was pretty young.

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

I think I liked it. I’d like to see it again without the five kids under 6 years old in our group distracting us. Overall the theatre was very loud though. Especially the Paper Wrapper and Plastic Bag Orchestra behind me. God forbid a grown adult doesn’t stuff their face for one hour and 45...
