News Tiana's Bayou Adventure Virtual Queue and Lighting Lane status

FEA also didn’t have previews. It just opened, probably because it wasn’t actually ready but a date had already been announced.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure Virtual Queue and Lighting Lane status

I mean, to be fair, would you rather have a 90 minute wait, or no chance to ride at all?

News 'Encanto' and 'Indiana Jones'-themed experiences at Animal Kingdom

We keep seeing a mountainous berm beyond the Casita facade. I wonder if that will make the final cut, or if it’s artistic license…?

What will Disney do about Morocco?

Imagine the backlash if Disney removes and/or replaces the only African nation in the World Showcase. Heck, imagine the controversy that would be generated if Disney removed any one of the countries. It’s just not going to happen. Now, upkeep? That’s a different story.

    When will the intervention come?

I was going to start my post with “the problem with the modern Disney company…” but the more I’ve thought about it, I really should start out with, “The problem with most businesses these days…” The problem with most businesses these days is the endless desire for increased profits. A company...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Unfortunately I’m afraid they tried a bit too hard with the new log-activated animatronic synchronization. Hopefully they can get it worked out. At worst, maybe they could reprogram the animatronics to loop continuously and independently of the log vehicles.

Maybe I didn’t articulate myself well. I meant that TDA makes more in profit per individual at a resort versus their theme parks. Of course, more people visit their theme parks, so the theme parks are earning more profit overall. In other words, 100 guests at a hotel (even if those 100 don’t go...

    DisneylandForward

The inherent problem I see with the resort’s layout and any potential expansion is this: What from I can tell, Disney makes more profit per guest* from hotel stays than theme park visits in Anaheim, due to their very high room prices and large share of APs visiting the parks. It follows that...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Except the difference is that the reviewers still get exclusive/early access (sometimes paired with behind-the-scenes tours, visits with Imagineers, free meals, etc.) and if they are critical of Disney, they risk losing that for the next Disney media event. It doesn’t matter if the reviewer is a...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Great points. I watched the POV with someone who had never seen The Princess and the Frog, and he mostly followed the attraction’s story until Mama Odie was introduced (on the screen before the dip drop), when he had to ask me what was going on/who she was.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Agree with everything you said! I think this is a rare example where an even greater budget wouldn’t have necessarily helped this attraction… and you simply have to put the blame on Imagineers for at least part of that. It all feels designed by committee… the storytelling beats aren’t there...

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

While the song doesn’t exactly flow with the plot of the story, it’s very catchy and definitely on repeat for me. Sure, the repeat of the word “joyful” in the chorus seems a bit lazy, and the words sometimes feel rushed, but I think the later is evocative of the New Orleans jazz style of music...

Reminds me of Wish… so much potential, but falls flat because it was “designed by committee.”

    Tiana’s Bayou Adventure SPOILER Thread

Maybe I’m being very generous to WDI, but I almost have to wonder if they were given certain mandates for the story of this attraction: • Showcase elements of the upcoming (canceled?) Tiana Disney+ show • Do not include fear-inducing story elements so that all ages can enjoy the attraction • Do...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

While I don’t have anything novel to say, I will admit the ride is growing on me. The POV Disney put out is awful compared to the new ones I’ve seen so far this week. In isolation, it seems to have the bones of a very good ride, and could be “fixed” fairly easily (though they won’t). At a...

Rumor Moana E-Ticket Ride to Adventureland

I’d argue it was less “messaging” and more their quota system/DEI mandates for new content (see chart), plus publicly taking a stance against the Florida law.

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Yes, but Disney social media accounts have still been pushing Fantasy Springs this week. If nothing else, it allows Disney to feature their IP in the news cycle and show people "look at what WDI created."

At opening in 1982, was EPCOT Center a "full day" park for you?

MGM and Animal Kingdom were notably under built at their respective openings. I'm curious if people had the same thoughts about EPCOT.

MSEP ending at Disneyland on Sept 1, WDW return in 2023?

They did announce Magic Happens at D23 so anything is possible... we've seen just about everything announced at D23 before... full lands, fireworks, heck, even a Target 😂
