New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Whoops, totally quoted the wrong person. Sorry!

Were the pre books only for the very first day of your trip? Or were they for every single day? And APs surely didn’t get two pre books every day they visited, did they? If they did, I can certainly see how that would be a huge issue, but also a huge incentive to cheat.

I thought you were describing pregnant women at first. (I say at 7 months prego 🤣)

Probably, yes. I had just left attractions when the switch happened, so I heard about it, but how it’s has evolved/changed since isn’t something I’m intimately familiar with. Good to know I’m not crazy though, because I could have sworn it was a thing, at least at first!

“Was every GAC holder a power user? No. But was ever a power rerider holding a GAC? Yes, unless the attraction happened to not have a wait.” Quoting myself here because you apparently missed the part where I said it wasn’t all the GAC users, so no, I didn’t “lump everyone in that group.” You...

I see some already answered it, but I thought it was the answer to the “my autistic child fixates on one ride and needs to ride it back to back” issue. I don’t know how the prebooks work, but could they be used for the same ride? I swear this was the reason, but maybe I’m misremembering.

And those with disabilities could do the same without the DAS as well, since the wait is so short. But would you reride multiple times while the line is 60+ minutes knowing you would be doing it at the sacrifice of doing something else? I’d be okay with the policy being something like allowing...

I can only speak to my experience as a CM from the GAC days - but I can tell you it happened because I saw it first hand. Everest, Splash, Star Tours (when it first reopened), Kali - the same families would come through over and over and over again flashing that red card without blinking an eye...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

When I was a CM (multiple e-ticket attractions under my belt), we never gave out fast passes to the ENTIRE queue during a breakdown. There was always a midway point in the line at which we cut it off - the back portion (the ones who waited the least) would just turn around and exit the queue the...

I wonder how these conversations are going. I can imagine some guests going up to the CM, saying, "I need a RTQ." CM says, "Okay, could you explain your needs?" And then the guest proceeds to describe something that is supposed to be accommodated via AQR where the majority waits in standby...

It also runs the risk of creating the “hardship Olympics.” Even people without disabilities have hardships that we can’t always see - maybe someone’s child died, maybe a family lost their mom and dad is just trying to cheer the kids up, maybe it’s a foster family of some severely traumatized...

I don’t know what the Halloween thing is.

    I think it’s both. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t know what the overall numbers are, but summer seems to be down, and the “slow” months seem to be packed. Just from anecdotal experience.

Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

For some, maybe. But I think there’s a couple of things to consider. One, it’s becoming increasingly accepting to pull kids out of school for family vacations as people are realizing there isn’t any huge benefit to having perfect attendance. No one is gonna be arrested for their kid skipping...

Touche. But they’re usually blocked out during major holidays when way more out of state visitors are expected.

My theory - and it’s only a theory - is that APs and CMs have a higher rate of DAS use than day guests. Visitors who are here just once every few years just sort of add the G+ to their budget and make it work. APs and CMs who visit every week might have a harder time justifying the additional...

I’m sure Disney has this data, but I doubt they’d ever release it - but I’d love to know the percentages of DAS holders among APs, CMs, and day guests. That would probably tell quite a story…

That's what I thought as well, but the other poster made it sound like Disney DID give them out in situations like mine. That surprised me, but that's why I was asking for clarification, because I may have misunderstood.

So interesting. I almost always visit the parks as the lone parent with two littlest kids (1.5 and 5 - my husband is at work, and my older kid is the only one who's public schooled, so he's usually either there or at his dad's), and I manage fine. BUT...I'm also expecting another, and I have...
