News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I agree. But, even to play devil's advocate, I think it's tough to argue this isn't "development by committee" or, more simply, disjointed. Epcot feels like a Powerpoint made by 5 people and slapped together at the last minute. The biggest loss is a park that had the most cohesive...

    The passing of Al Lutz

He was such a great resource, especially in his prime years. Definitely part of my early internet years, and a great source of content for Disney Parks fans. May he rest in peace!

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Let alone the one on the right was originally designed as a literal hallway, where the attraction spaces sat next to it (meaning all of CC here, vs. that particular section).

News Revamped Dining Room Unveiled at EPCOT's San Angel Inn Restaurante

I'll be interested to see it in person. It ruins the lakeside illusion a little bit (in the pictures). But, overall, I really like it. It looks much nicer from the restaurant perspective. Even if it looks little less "al fresco dining".

News The Seas pavilion new color scheme

I agree. I think doing more natural components would do wonders here, especially as the "future" ascetic is no longer needed. It also would match the more lush World Nature landscaping areas more.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I can appreciate that perspective. Again, I think the issue is not that it is better than it was. As everyone keeps saying about TBA... judge this on its own. The current implementation of the park, had it been built from the ground up, would feel disjointed and "cheap" in several areas...

News Disney plans to reboot Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I said the same thing almost verbatim while looking through all this.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I think that's kinda rude... It shouldn't take someone 20 years to finish med school...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Sadly, I agree. It looks... fine. But, it feels very corporate event space. Which is exactly what it is. Day guests are secondary to the rental factor. As with so many things recently, it's not bad by any means. It's just uninspired and a little hollow. Or, given our modern world...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

That sums it up perfectly. While it wasn't perfect, that type of placesetting and theme creation is what I loved about the parks in the 80s/90s. It's a different time and a different set of priorities/goals now. At least they are putting effort into things based on TBA vs. just hoping cheap...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

I'm genuinely glad that people are excited for this. And, it does look to have gotten a proper budget. The more I'm seeing, the more it just feels a little meh and flat for me. (Coming from a PatF fan, BTW.) But, the log has sailed. I do fear for effects maintenance given modern Disney...

News The Seas pavilion new color scheme

I agree fully and have said something similar since day 1 of this attraction. I could argue the same for Gran Fiesta (though it's not as bad). This comes down to poor storytelling - not poor general ideas. This problem seems to be hindering so many recent Epcot attractions IMHO.

0%. That colorful wind IP is marked as problematic.

Idea A+... Execution of the space... hmmm.... I do think this would be an amazing use for Odyssey.

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Yes. They could have easily done a drop, using the triangle pattern for the grid vs. the standard squares/rectangles. It could be filled with some type of tile - with necessary ones removed based on each show's lighting/sound/rigging requirements. The sleek underside almost looks worse with...

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

While I get the need and the realities of lighting rigging, that really doesn't look very good. While I do like Celebration Gardens generally, Communicore Hall is feeling really budget cut the more I see. I hope there is something better on the interior.

News Epcot Forever to debut as interim show before full Reflections of Earth replacement

I do wish they would have had a "know yourself/learn what our own instrument can do" that leads into You've got a Friend. While Friend Like Me is visually very cool, it is the one that sticks out most. And, I do agree the upbeat portion there could be a bit fleshed out. Something like...
