    When will the intervention come?

You are correct in that the rooms/resorts themselves, if picked up and plopped down anywhere else, would not be able to charge those prices. The main reason, especially for the deluxe resorts on the monorail or walking distance to a park, is the location. People were willing to pay a very...

    Cabins at FW sales thread

Don't forget some of the other resorts also expire in 2042. I believe Boardwalk and Beach Club Villas are among those. They only have 18 years left, and still selling for premium pricing, lol.

Now that the proxy war is over, who SHOULD be the next CEO of Disney? (assuming Bob Iger actually leaves in 2026...)

I'm now convinced Iger will not leave unless forced out by a 50%+ shareholder vote, or gets so old that it becomes obvious the board has to retire him.

News New Polynesian Resort DVC villas building to open 2024

Right, if they had just made 3 more longhouses with differing villa types instead of the tower, everybody would be excited. Or even if they made the tower look similar to Aulani or something. But it's looking like a generic hotel plopped next to the Poly and calling it part of the Poly. I...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

What I would like to know, before I hop on this DAS must be severely restricted bandwagon, is some typical numbers for non- DAS non- LL users. Like how many rides does a typical standby user get to ride each day.

News New Polynesian Resort DVC villas building to open 2024

Well, if we are going to get picky, Tokelau was built in 1978, not 1985, and I do distinctly remember Tikiman's page describing how the exterior wood supports needed replacing, but as to the balconies, we would have to check with him, as I couldn't find any info about that anymore.

News New Polynesian Resort DVC villas building to open 2024

This building looks like it will absolutely tower over the existing Poly. And if I'm counting the stories correctly, 8? 9? It looks like it will even tower over the existing 6 story GF DVC building as well. What were they thinking? The original Poly as built followed traditional Polynesian...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I'm only 5'11" and my knees already hit the back of the seat in front of me on IASW and Splash (we'll see about Tiana ride) - I can't imagine what it's like for somebody say 6'5 or so.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Yes. As a wise person told me, your time is actually worth money. And, you're literally spending X dollars for every hour you're inside Disney World, every minute even. If you have to spend hours getting a pass that you could spend $100 to get instantly, it's just a no-brainer.

2024 Walt Disney Company Annual Meeting Of Shareholders

This is what I was going to say. Over 30% disapproval in a shareholder vote for a large company is virtually unheard of. Eisner's famous shareholders meeting after the save Disney campaign was less than that, about 27-28%, something like that, which resulted in him resigning shortly afterward...

News Disney hints at more changes to come at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

I could see horrible price creep if they changed to that model. Let's say they start with $49.95 to enter the park, and $10 for each ride. Before you know it, the entrance fee would be $59, then $69, etc., until you're right back up to what we pay now, only without any ride access.

It was so amazing when it worked- he almost reached out to your vehicle! There's no excuse for Disco yeti, but I guess Disney has bigger issues going on right now.

Disney Board of Directors -- News and Drama

The problem here is, there was a certain person there in the 90s who helped with the transition to Eisner and then again launched a campaign to transition to Iger in the 2000s. A Disney family member, Roy Jr. Everyone in the company basically looked to him as the Disney stamp of approval. And...

Disney Board of Directors -- News and Drama

The key phrase there in the investment firm's quote is "support Mr. Iger's efforts constructively"- in other words, more yes men. I don't see any change coming. I think it would take not just removing Iger, but also several of his board members, to initiate a turnaround.

    Kilimanjaro Safaris Elephant Bypass

Well it used to have a story that went with it, and the bridge that almost fails, and an ending, which made it more of a thrilling ride. Now it's just a safari ride. An impressive one, but just a safari ride. I think maybe they should go back to that old playbook and come up with a new story...

They also had the Beauty and the Beast show as well, which swallowed large crowds during the day. And they had a parade too which helped.
