I’m glad you enjoy it. To each their own: I happen to love Villain Con at Universal, and it’s certainly not the greatest thing ever, but a nice addition to the big picture—just as NRJ is.

Navi River Journey, for me, is a B Ticket. At best. I think wheeling a cart through the produce section of any Publix grocery store is more fun and way less pretentious. Half kidding.

No, they just don’t enjoy getting so ridiculously soaked on a theme park ride that their clothes, shoes and socks remain wet for the rest of the day. It was not an intentional design feature of DL’s Splash Mtn. The soakings arrived with the redesigned, non-bench seating logs.

I’d like to know what percentage of people who ride either of them actually thought they were worth the time and/or effort to ride. My opinion is that the only reason Navi RJ has long lines is because the park only has a handful of rides, and anyone visiting AK for possibly the only time in...

Frozen had the benefit of replacing a “meh” ride. In my opinion, FEA turned the “meh” ride into the second stupidest thing I’ve ever ridden, behind Navi River Journey. One thing I believe a lot of people, TBA fans and TBA critics alike, can agree on is the weakness of the new ride’s story. In...

Don’t forget the TL Bobsled track. And the canoes. If you get stuck behind a clumsy paddler… good luck. 😄

Oh, I’m sure they’re wonderful people and they’re certainly entitled to their opinions…but I would never ask them for an entertainment recommendation. 😄 And I think the Tiki Room finale where the Gods are angered by all the celebratin’ is 100 times more dramatic than anything that happens in...

I’m waiting for them to rename The Mad Hatter: The Silly Hatter. Because calling him mad is offensive.

I can’t believe they went to such effort to remove all the fun and thrills of the PatF IP. It’s like if they remodeled Alice in Wonderland so that instead of going to Wonderland, you just go to a bland normal tea gathering at Alice’s house and everyone’s polite and telling everyone how special...

See, now, this… THIS is an ADVENTURE. This DESERVES to have the word in its title. With three minutes of fictional peril, this roller coaster spins a simple, effective tale: Hagrid, being Hagrid, did not see the flaw in his lesson plan, and now you’re on a sentient, runaway motorbike. It’s...

Good grief! 😄 Does that person not realize that Splash Mountain was praised BECAUSE it used its drops to emphasize danger points in the story? And even Pooh features the characters facing home-destroying winds, a flood and thieving monsters. TBA is too timid to offer even those kind of mild...

*Ahem* That’s Mickey Mouse CLUB. And I do believe that Annette and the MMC were absolutely worthy of their inclusion in the Treasures series. The MMC show was huge, both as a pop culture/tv history phenomenon and as a major step for Walt Disney Studios.

No threat, no villain, no tension, no danger etc., which are elements most other good Disney rides contain. It’s all very one-note, happy-happy, everyone’s cheerful, etc. from start to finish. It feels like a preschool story with a goal of creating no feelings of suspense that might frighten a...

But theme park fans are not calling the shots, Bob Iger is. In the context of what Disney has become (a huge media corporation playing with newly acquired toys like Star Wars and Marvel), Splash Mtn., with its ties to a movie they’re pretending doesn’t exist, became a thing that, in their eyes...

It’ll resurface in that context eventually. Plenty of people bought the Japanese laserdisc, and the film will become public domain in a couple of decades. Maybe a future Disney management will actually find it beneficial to handle a retrospective look at the film themselves instead of leaving it...

At the top of the big lift: “Run, Bambi! Run!!!!” *RIFLE SHOT* The big drop. “We made it, Mother! Mother?” You hear Bambi’s cry for his mom echoing here and there as you drift toward finale. Finale: All dark except for Bambi’s Dad staring down at you. “Your mother can’t be with you anymore.”...

One main difference is that Peter Pan and Dumbo are excellent, much-loved movies. SotS is not. It’s not hypocrisy; if SotS was a genuinely great movie, there would probably have been money and effort put toward putting it into historical context for the GP, redubbing/altering certain scenes...
