    Frozen Ever After opening day

The best of a bad situation, I guess. A track not designed around a real narrative now supports a ride that has something of a narrative (based on queue photos, we're invited to visit Elsa's ice palace for the first time?), with top notch production values. I am sad for EPCOT but at least...

    A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

I appreciated the efforts Favreau and his team took to bring something new to the screen, though I'll agree large parts of the film felt very much the same. However, I think the core characters and plot are inescapable- a lot of the viewing audience, unfortunately, goes in with expectations of...

    A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

Wasn't able to check the thread for a while, sorry for the delayed response... I'm not complaining. I think my post was fair; I don't want to see a fully-CGI remake, but I think it's an inescapable thing. I am a motion graphics animator and videographer full-time. If I didn't believe in the...

    A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

This movie finished principle shooting something insane, like August 2015. They've been doing reshoots and recording lately (heard Ewan McGregor on Empire Magazine Podcast two-ish weeks ago). That all tells me they committed to massive CGI elements from the get-go, and gave appropriate time to...

I was about to crawl in the corner and die if that movie was over 30 years old. Also, I caught your Cogsworth joke in the post with the video. Props.

    A Spirited Dirty Dozen ...

Hate to get into forum trivialities, especially w/ someone so respected, but there shouldn't be a debate here. It's clear it's bokeh. Probably some white wicker chairs in the foreground or something. I'm as untrusting as anyone of Disney's PR foolishness but this isn't trying to hide anything...

I wanna like it (your post) but I don't.

The messenger app did have that functionality baked in, secretly, but it's only functional on Android. On iOS, because it's a closed system, nothing can activate services like location or microphone in the background without the user actively allowing it. Things like that keep me on iOS, for now.

    It's definitely bokeh. Source: I'm a photographer.

The Shanghai Disneyland spoiler rich attraction preview thread!

I saw another clip somewhere where the screen went transparent just as the cars down below took off... it was insane.

Hahaha. I *could* download it, slow it down, and re-upload it... but that seems like a lot of work for a garbage clip. :P

Found some rough footage of part of Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue. Here is some pre-visualization footage to give you an idea of what you're looking at.

It goes back to what they're talking about in the current Spirit thread. WDW doesn't have the budget because of MM+.

I have been a lurker for a very long time around here, and I had no clue that you were the Martin of Martin's Videos until I visited your profile just now. I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed your work. I feel like most of what I remember about Disney attractions from the 80s and 90s are...

I would love even a little elaboration there... I'm unaware of that time period. EDIT: I typed this and didn't hit send immediately because of a distraction in the room... TP2000 has elaborated above!

    First Trip to DLP

I can tell you that despite a lot of what you read online, the two-park ticket is definitely worth it, because even though it is a hot mess, you won't regret visiting the studios park. (It's good to see other people here agree!) Rock'n Roller Coaster is, in my opinion, marginally better than in...

I wasn't condemning your opinion at all! Projection effects have been used in WDI for a very long time; obviously Haunted Mansion's Madame Leota or Hatbox Ghost being two very early examples. Most of that ride (HM), when you think about it, relys on screens and illusions of light. So many...

Blessing and a curse: computers can deliver very realistic environments and details for a fraction of the cost of the real equivalent. What's happened in film over the last 30 years is now happening in theme parks. Tron's "sets" were largely the colored screens you see in the making-ofs of the...

Watching that video, it's interesting getting new angles here and there of different things we've already seen, but it's a decent overview as well. Pirates is impressive. - Vastly different from what I even imagined, story-wise. This is a direct narrative. - I couldn't tell from the video, but...
