    Rumors. Musings. Casual.

Disney has been removing the motion detecting ones as they renovate rooms for at least 2 years. None of the most recent renovations have them. That was a mid-2010s bad decision.

    Rumors. Musings. Casual.

Amen. I for one look forward to walking from my room in the Grand Missourian to visit Elsa’s Castle at the end of a new Main Street USA.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Anyway this ride’s biggest issue is none of the above, it’s that they can’t seem to keep the damn thing running. Which doesn’t seem to be a big problem in Orlando for this ride? We were there for 4 days this past weekend and it must have been down 12 separate times. I bet it had an entire...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Man if you’re going to get that literal I don’t know how you ride things like Mr Toad.

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Absolutely agree. My kids had way more fun there than in Fantasyland where the only things to do are 3 minute rides through movies they don’t want to watch in the first place (I love fantasyland but that’s their perspective)

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

It was jammed with people every time we went on our vacation there this past week. Is it the most efficient use of space? I don’t know. But on all prior trips I took to Disneyland, I was waiting for the tumbleweeds to blow in. This time I could hardly move. So it’s definitely pulling people...

    1 Bed Boulder Question

Just to be clear, some top floor studios still have pull out couches at BRV because the slope of the roof made pull down wall beds impossible to fit.

    GFV sold out

I also imagine it means a price hike to at least $275 is incoming.

New 350 room DVC tower coming to Disneyland Hotel

The pricing is outrageous, I was 100% planning to buy here until the point charts and tax information came out now I am 0% ever expecting to stay there. I do like it though.

I was told this would be non-descript.

News Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge (Project 89 - Development near Fort Wilderness)

I had assumed the 2 cabins that are a mile and a half from all the other ones would disappear with this DVC conversion but apparently not

New 350 room DVC tower coming to Disneyland Hotel

I don’t know how you can call a building that is practically screaming with yellow accents “nondescript”. Are we looking at the same thing? You don’t have to like it but it’s annything but inert.

New 350 room DVC tower coming to Disneyland Hotel

It looks nice. By Anaheim hotel standards it’s elite (very low bar). The visual effects on the building ARE very cool and unique. The dramatic lighting is fun. It doesn’t match the other towers, which are hideous, so that’s fine. It’s a huge upgrade to the Disneyland hotel. It would be a...

Villas at Disneyland Hotel opening September 2023

Whenever someone questions the DVC deal they got, the zen part of my brain always pipes up to remind us that if your purchase will make you happier than having the money that you spent on it would have made you, then it’s a good deal. May you have many wonderful visits!

Riviera direct - poor experience so far

This is true, but for something like Welcome Home, they are supposed to tell you about it if you already qualify, but they aren’t exactly supposed to tell you that you can save another $1000 by making a fake 1 night reservation for next fall at All Star Music and then cancel it once your closing...

News Disney World's Magic Kingdom is experiencing widescale attraction closures this morning due to a bear

Well like no one else like put the bear there. Blame is a weird word here though. It’s just nature. Rain gets me wet, and then it’s true that it’s the rain’s fault that I’m wet, but also I don’t blame the rain for getting me wet.

News Disney World's Magic Kingdom is experiencing widescale attraction closures this morning due to a bear

It is also interesting to note that the magic kingdom has been in that spot specifically for 52 years and the bear did not know a life before it.
