Sonic movies and detective pikachu did incredible at the box office and they are middling efforts (still fun enough). From the trailers, Mario seems to be leaps and bounds better (no mario pun intended). $1 billion earner for sure or I'll my shoe.

GMR was in my top 3 favorite attractions. MMRR is in my bottom 3. They're replacing all my slow moving grandpa rides for speed and screens

This is the problem with modern disney attractions... The most thrilling rides I dig are splash, space and big thunder mountains. If I wanted thrill rides, I'd go to six flags or one of hundreds of other thrill parks. But I don't dig thrill rides... Bring back Ellen! :p

Not everything needs to be “relatable”. 90’s kids like myself had no idea what splash mountain was based on and it was (is) imaginative and a joy to experience for the young and old. People/Disney just want familiar, predictable, bankable IP as attractions these days.

If splash merch and (the timeless song) zip-a-dee-doo-dah wasn’t scrubbed from the parks then I would say they are re-assessing the project; but unfortunately I’d say it’s full steam ahead for the project re-do in the next year or so.
