The synergy is that there’s a movie based on the ride and they’re finally adding hatbox ghost. That’s it. The rest is just a refurb.

Haunted mansion is my favorite ride, but again, if you see the movie… which is not that bad even if it bombed… it makes sense that you could see the hatbox ghost before the seance. It bothered me more before I saw the movie.

After seeing the movie, it makes perfect sense why they’d put him where they did and why he might appear before any other spirits do in the ride. Which has made me okay with it. I actually quite enjoyed the movie.

I think they should have focused more on green plants/waterfalls/etc. protruding through the existing architecture more. But I think the bigger issue is a lack of a musical score in the bg and/or more droids/aliens.

Gaya is a bad idea haha. I think it would be good if they made it a band instead, like the cantina band. But if they can build the Toy Story table service they can build this one after the fact too. I think they could utilize some of the show ideas from starcruiser maybe.
