Especially difficult to see the poor stewardship of this redo’s funds while the shadow of a languishing Spaceship Earth looms literally overtop the hub.
Sun damage would beat it up pretty bad but im imagining something evocative of the Horizons mural taking the midground spot instead of the postride building.
On the attendance figures, does an after hours/party turnstile contribute to a count of unique attendance figures on top of day visits? ie could someone be double counted on a day if they went to MK at 9 am and then stayed for a party?
Encanto was a really great film, but the company has not really projected the confidence and grand scale of an original WDAS musical film since Moana. I think it’s smart business to make some cheaper, smaller-scale animated features every couple of years if they can get the numbers to work out...
Soul and Luca are two of the best movies Pixar has produced since Iger acquired the studio and they didn’t get a wide theater-exclusive window release. It’s really baffling.
I think production cycles on these animated movies are so long, there is no movie on this list that entered production during Bob the Lesser’s time as CEO. I know some of those Pixar movies took like 7 years to develop but some of that might include R&D time (Elemental probably had a lot of R&D...
The number one conclusion i reached in watching this movie is that Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan is the most charismatic and compelling protagonist this franchise has put in front of our faces since T’Challa and Spider-Man 7 years ago. There is a really great movie with these three actresses to be...
It would shock me if Disney has any major new attractions in 2025 in Orlando. That would be a good time to bring back a night parade at MK if they’re ever gonna do it. I would imagine if they are going to deliver on their investment promise it will be one major new attraction each year from...
It really jumps out at you when entering from the International Gateway entrance. All of the DVCers and luxury/higher end hotel guests are greeted with it. Very amusing.
The company has painted itself into a corner with paid ILL. They pretty much can't do scheduled downtime without transparently leaving a lot of profit on the table. They will have to build a new attraction at that caliber in that park before they can offline it, and then the cycle of suck begins...
There are a lot of reasons for this that make sense. The joke one I'll choose to go with for my own entertainment is that TDO prides itself on how mid-to-bad all dining options are in MK. I have been in position to visit the resort ~10 days a year a year or more 2016-2019 and 2021-2023 and...
It's definitely a prime location but the kind of attraction that can be built in that real estate is not something the company has seemingly wanted to build. It's gotta project outward "big investment" energy and fit with a merchandisable IP. It does kind of hide away in the way that WoL kind of...
I admittedly just don't have the temerity to pull the post I thought you made long-ago about it, but I feel like your tune has changed on this since it was announced?
While it was not a new thing, I think the 2022 return of Fantasmic is a good recent analog. You got a post on socials like a month before opening and then they just opened the dang thing. I would love the extent of Luminous promo to be similarly muted: give us like 10 seconds of the barges...
